I'm wondering about that trapdoor thing in the ceiling: Are you going to seal that up with drywall? If not, then it will be a really, really weak point in your inner leaf. - Stuart -
yes I will put One gb inside the trapdoor & one outside.
Back to sketch, here are the right dimensions of the rooms.

Last days were : OBSESSION DAYS Filling the holes, Filling the holes, Filling the holes, Filling the holes, Filling the holes, Filling the holes, Filling the holes ... some pic : ------ On the166jpg you can see one of the door. I took it at the existing rec studio. Its a 85kgs acoustic door given for 49dB. i v found a man who can replace it in the new studio. It will be cheaper than buying new doors. & The existing studio will become an office or I don t know what. But I m sure they don t need such doors. I need them.

tedious job but SOOO worth it :) That's the moment when it all comes together... great work, :yahoo:
ThanksRo. Beginning a wood structure in the voice studio for rockwool on the walls ( 8cm, at 70Kgs / m3 ) & tissu on it . A new job ! I Have 4X4cm wood so I put twice, it's long, maybe I need to find 4X8cm ? Don't know how others are doing ?

I'd go with 45x95 (mm)
Thanks Ro. I v just order 40X80, it s 1€20 meter. I v finished my 40X40 stock in the CR. I ve found Oberflex.fr acoustic wood panels, waiting for prices. I m sure that people will touch the walls & maybe it will be better to have wood panels on some walls rather than just coton with rockwool behind. Of course there will be more wood, but I still don t know where I will put coton tissue or wood ( Oberflex.fr sound panels / thats wood with holes ). Wood acoustic panels need wood structure every 40cm. I don t know for coton tissue that s 2m60 large... maybe every 1m ?

I continue acoustic wood structure of the CR, but easy because of my left hand ! Now I need to order the rock wool... 3 weeks before I can have it ! Here a rough design of the cr. The real design was made by the great french acoustic designer Christian Malcurt.

Are those angled false wall have hard sufaces behind? Just angling a cloth wall will do nothing to early reflections
Yellow walls are cloth & rock wool. others are wood
continue, continue ...

I ve found a way to fix the 1st layer of 4cm rock wool( 120Kg/m3) on the CR ceiling :

I continue the 1st layer on the CR ceiling. I v found a good product for the final ceiling ( 2nd layer). I t s called Ekla Th80 from Rockfon.fr. It s rockwool 80mm. There will be 7cm of air between 4cm rockwool & final ceiling.

Wow, what a great story, i couldnt stop reading once i started, it really looked like you were gonna mess up really badly but i think you listened to the great advice here and changed your plans just in time and now it looks like it could be fantastic. To do all that on your own is an amazing achievement, congratulations. I cant wait to see how it turns out in the end. I am just about to start my own much smaller project and you have been an inspiration to me sir, thanks. And thanks to everyone else here, i'm not quite ready yet but with all your advice i am slowly understanding more and more. Cheers to you all Russ
Thanks Russ. Yes hopefully I listened to the advices on this great great site. Good news, i v finished to put rockwool on the walls. Bad news, the company that was supposed to install windows & doors doesn t want the job anymore !? Arghh I can t do the job ( there s 4acoustic doors from the existing studio to install, each one is 85Kgs). So I need to find another company. I m sure that my planning to open new studio in October is dead (one year of work was a good plan ) too bad. ! & I want to keep my loudspeakers stands & put them in the bass traps,so I need to wait for windows & doors to be installed, I dont want myAlesis Monitor II to be in the dust for 2 or 3 months, & I need them for work in the existin studio.

Still searching for a new contractorr ( for doors & windows ). it looks like an impossible mission in France during July & August ! STAND BY .
Can t find a new contractor for windows & doors. I v continued with toilets & a small bar & wood for windows. I m not sure I can make windows myself, I v tried to find infos & I have Rod s book but still don t know what is glazing tape in france & don t know if I need to put rubber just at the bottom or on each side ? & do I need to glue the glass ? & is the wood for stopping glass 2cm or 4cm high ? & if it s 2cm high so I need to cut the 4cm rock wool at 2cm ? many questions !!! For the glass I will ask for the price of laminate glass 10mm & 12mmSt gobainStradip silence (each window will have a 10mm glass & a 12mm on the other side).
