the slats can simply be measured in SU using the dimension tool.
Hey Glenn,
So finally i got the room vacant to start the process. Ive done some ROOM analysis with Room Eq 5 and here are the results.
Do you think so is it a good idea to modify the current room and get good results.
Just a thot.
Let me know!
Sincerely
Simran
at a quick glance you have some pretty wide swings in some frequencies so using room treatments to even it out would be a good idea. if you don't want to go heavy on the integrated approach, you could try a number of absorbers spaced around the room to see how it changes and then decide if you need the more complex modifications.
Cool Glenn I shall do some more analysis of the room from different positions.
Heres how i am going
dBX calibarated mic ---> Project mix io
KRK RP5 Monitors connected to the outs.
Well i have to give gain on the mic to match the level of the input signal to the reference signal is it ok? (in terms of dB SPL/FS)
Can you please refer some of the waterfall diagrams of well treated rooms?
Please let me know.
Sincerely
Simran
+/- 10db would be very decent, +/- 6db would be really good, +/- 3db would be outstanding, +/- 2db would be world class.
hmmm...
Do you really think so Soffits will be a good idea here in?
Update: Room starting to get replastered and some anti pest and water proofing treatment happening
sincerely

you could start with just the basic treatments and placement of mix position and speakers and see if that gives you the results you need. if not, then take the next step. you would likely re-use the absorbers you build regardless so its not like you are losing that investment in money and time.
yeah that will be the approach exactly!
Here are the two layouts i designed. Please enlighten me with your reviews.
the existing plaster of the room has been removed. Will post the pics of the un plastered room soon :P
im using the ratio of 1:5 of cement to fine quality river sand + 1lt of dr.fix it per 50kgs of cement.
Will get the room plastered by day after or something.

Hey!
Did you like that?
I want every one who is reading the posts to comment and share the views. Please it will be a great help!

Hey here are some pics of the done plastering and
application of water proofing agent and URB for more strength.
And this is one more layout in which im planing to soffit either of the following monitors
K+H o300
Adams (size might be a prob)
Focals Vtwin
As my mains
and KRK RP5 on floor stand as my near field

Is this page dead?
:?:
Glenn my friend u there?
HELOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
relax. you're latest version looks good. the back wall should have a thick absorber on it as well.
Hey im in the process of auditioning various monitors in my room.
Currently im planing to finalize on K+H o300. I would love to soffit them.
The only problem i can see is the power amp heating problems. More over if i flush mount them in a equilateral way the sweet spot is falling around one feet and eight inch. I would be roughly 7 feet away from the speakers.
To flush mount will it be a good idea to remove the amp from the monitors and flushmounting it too?
Please help
Simran
if you leave enough space for air flow the K+H should be OK to soffit mount. if need be, adjust width of the speaker mounting or depth of the soffit faces to put the sweet spot where you need it.
Hi Glenn!
Hope you are fine, Its beautiful piece of work youve done for me. Im so happy to practically see how things are going to get in place. I am really thankful to you for all the enlightment you are and you will give to me.
As of now im 99% finalizing on the K+H 410s and if not o300s.
Will buy the set probably the coming week. Once i have the speakers with me i will first flush mount them and check the response of the room and treat it accordingly. Hope my approach is correct.
Please put some light on the issue :)
Sincerely
Simran
it sounds like a good approach to me.
Hi ! Glenn!
Just ordered a set of 410s from the local distributor. Now i do not have the money to even treat my girlfriend for this :P
hahaha
Will get them by coming week.
Keep you updated.

Hi
A bit of raytracing with slight variations in the design
hope its correct
Simran
it's close enough. you can see the angles have the desired effect. consider also the profile - floor to ceiling reflections and how the angled clouds can help as well. make your back wall more absorptive so the level of the return reflections off the back wall is balanced in your listening position.
yes Glenn I will def work on that. This was just an estimate i was making between the side walls.
but since the sweet spot if falling way too behind and just leaving 2feet from the back wall.Wont it create bass boom or a null ?
think of it as a wide sweet spot - the point of convergence on the speakers is behind you true but your head has width and the speakers do not have perfect directionality so it should work fine. worst case- consider making the angle on the soffit a bit steeper (say 34-36° instead of 30°) to move the focus closer.
Ya that makes sense man.
Spks are coming in by this week. Planning to put Steel/iron I-Bar and make the frames for soffit.
12mm Marine grade ply+aluminium sheet on the ply tightly stuck/molded+12.5mmGypsum board
air space stuffed with 64/m square density glasswool on one end. Second end with 7mm ply+10mm gyp board +aluminium sheet sandwich. The entire thing screwed on the Ibar
Speakers on Iron platform enclosed in wood. Speaker resting on neoprene on all the sides.
Let me know what do u think
