Hello my dear friends,
I have a room which i wish to turn into a home studio. i am attaching a few google sketchups which consists of only the room plan and my designed studio.
The following are the details of my design.
H:7.30ft
W:8.33ft
L:10Ft (118 inches to be precise :( )
I am making a RFZ kind design. The angles what ive decided are according to Auralex 101 Control Room Example (google it if you dont know or use protractor on outer side of the wall of studio to check)
Please have a view and help me improvise.

welcome! please review the read-me stickies to help us to help you. knowing how you intend to use the studio and what limitations there may be can be helpful - budget, neighbors, existing structure, lease-buy? etc etc
Hi ,
The attached is the layout ive come up with. I only wish to have a Mix Studio in the amount of area i have. I really dont think so a iso booth is possible in here as the area is too less. How ever if a Small iso booth can be managed to atleast track guitar amps will be just wonderful.
This room is in my house, i live on the ground floor of the building. The surroundings are not noisy neither the neighbors who live above me.
The Room dimensions are 117.5x 123 x 96 (height) inches.
I wish to go in for a RFZ kind of setup.
The kind of work will be basically mixing bands, songs. I am also making this as an online studio so that ppl from all over the world can use the services.
As the money flows in i shall be buying a property and making a full fledged studio there.
I wish to put a sandwich of plywood + Glasswool + Gypsum board partitions or what ever you suggest.
Please find the attached file
Thanks
Simran
would it be possible to have a raw floor plan of the room you can use including all the details - windows, doors, pipes, ducts, beams etc? the SU file doesn't seem to match your dimensions... just a simple line drawing will work.
Please find the simple floor plan as measured on an inch tape.
Perfect dimensions, no protruding beams,no pipelines, has main entrance and bathroom entrance ....
Theres just one window on 10' 3" wall
Sincerely
Simran
could you address the questions in the blue boxes?
Hey. The Length width and height are sepmeyres ratio which i shall be applying to the existing room of dimensions 10'3"x9'9" x 8' height. The bathroom is a bit more wide than the existing measures shown in the diagram, its just for reference purpose. The
Bathroom door is 1 foot 11 inches wide. the main enterance is 1ft 9inches.
Thanks
Hey Glenn, I hope u got my point? Thanks
you can skip the ratios since the room is literally too small to bother. this design would provide a separate hall and at a 7.2' ceiling height (assuming you are building an inside out ceiling as well as walls) you end up with a reasonable workspace. unfortunately the entry door and bathroom door prevents a good solution for air locking, having the hallway (air lock) gives you an option to do air exchange with that space (assuming that's where your windows or ventilation ducts are). otherwise consider just treating the space and making it work as-is until you can make enough to buy into a better space.
This is very beautiful Glenn.. can u please give me a line diagram in sketchup so that i can have dimensions perfectly
thanks a lot
but isnt it possible to put up RFZ setup?
that is an RFZ set up...
Oh ok...cool :) ...sorry for my poor exposure to studio designing and lack of experience... :horse: :P
i shall put the pictures of the room with accurate dimensions marked with all the windows, doors, pillars etc.......
I already have a pair of krk rp5 monitors. Can they go soffit?
moreover ill be soon getting ATC SCM11s on a bank financed buy....can i put 2 of these as soffits?
Thanks
Sincerely
Simran
Hi Glenn, if u can give me a simple line diagram of the design on the line diagram of the room which ive provided,it wil be just fantastic...
Sincerely
Simran
you could mount them in soffits. depending on their acoustic centers, dispersion etc it possible to mount them top-to-top so they have roughly the same response.I already have a pair of krk rp5 monitors. Can they go soffit? moreover ill be soon getting ATC SCM11s on a bank financed buy....can i put 2 of these as soffits?
Hey Glenn, the following attached is google sketchup of the room...it has been made by measuring the room inch by inch. Please consider the dimensions as marked.
i am also attaching photos of the room
Thanks
Simran
following are the attached rar files containing jpgs of the room...its messy :P :)
