Hai Carlo,
Sorry you didn't get any response yet.
An access panel is always good, consider it as a door: it still needs to be as heavy as your floor and well sealed using rubber.
About the mackie, I'd add one cabinet for 19" devices to your room (underneath ye desk for example) and make it a heavy one, build for loud devices like the mackie. You also need to take care of heat coming from the devices.
Good luck with the glass, 16mm is heavy! :)

Electricity
Ah sunday. I did my 1st tests, with a small system . A Factotum Performance from Voice system, it s a compact amplification system with 2 sattelites & a subwwofer/amplifier/mixer ( I use it for rehearsing & small events).
So this is not a hifi sound system. I put the satellites in the bass traps & subwoofer in front of the room. But it s good after all this work to seat & relax & listen to some music.
I v listen to Urban Dance squad / Peter Gabriel / my last record Earth Link / Daft Punk & a flamenco guitar solo cd.
Because of the system I couldn t judge the equalisation but :
stereophony is incredible with a stable image even when you walk in the control room
details and depth are very very good
Lede control room works very well
wood in the back give a good mood and ambience
This is not a dead laboratory with a small sound completly absorbed
walls angles don t send backsoundwaves
there s life and warm mood
balance between treble medium and low frequencies stay constant at low level
and at 96dBa it was very cool ...
and very few sound loss at the exterior of the building, I will makesound proofing tests when I can close all the doors ( need to finish painting doors, clean the floor, take all the tools out ... )
......
Now I need to pack everythink at the existing studio before .... the Big removal day,
so I have to wait a bit for real test with Ns10 and Alesis Monitor 2 & JM Reynaud systems.
I took the table from the studio, ( & cut front feet / the table is on the access floor system & on the floor ) so I can keep the patch & many wires. There will be less work to do.
Cables ready for the future rack
I ll begin in the studio ( 7m x 3m ) with just 2 walls of rockwool + 1 trap on the ceiling ( 1,5x1m ) & a triangle trap on the wall ( 2,5m x 70 ) . I will make the tests after the removal.
Patches are ready in the studio & in the voice studio
24xlr from studio & 8 xlr from the voice studio are ready behind the desk .
There is also Midi & RJ45 & AES Ebu & video bnc in all rooms.
Rack 1 is ready in the soundbooth with 2 uninterruptive power suppliers. Rack will wait till the close of the existing rec studio downtown bordeaux for amplifiers. Rackable vintage effects & instruments will come here too.
Could not wait ... I took the amplifier & Monitor2 back & a SqnIVS to listen some music today.
After 1tests ( with a small system ) I was a bit afraid of a lack of low frequencies but no
Low frequencies are very present & very clean.
as I said before,
stereophony is very large with a stable image even when you walk in the CR
details and depth are very good
Lede control room works very well
wood in the back give a good mood and ambience
This is not a dead laboratory there s life and warm mood
angles don t send backsoundwaves
equalisation balance stay very stable at every levels
at 101dBa it was very cool
and outside it was raining ( can't hear low frequencies because of the rain).
Tomorrow I will make some sound levels tests in the rooms.
My old desk d8b looks still alive, I removed it from existing studio & begun pluggin.
I removed the control room rack ( Dat / Tc Finalizer / Eq Weiss / Vu Oram / 2 Preamps Amek Neve / Rev Lexicon / Delay Tc / Tc effects / Aphex C ( havent try this one ! ) / cd & K7 ). Need to plug & test everything.
still pluggin rack / d8b monitor is ok & Protools too. I don t like the d8b monitor just in front of the windows, don't know what to do ?
It looks like there is enough space to put a flat screen monitor on the wall ABOVE the window? If not, then maybe you could get an A/B switch for your other monitor, so you can switch one monitor between two inputs. (Sometimes called a KVM switch, but in your case you'll only be using the "V" part of it.) It's looking great, by the way!!!! When will you be finished? - Stuart -I don t like the d8b monitor just in front of the windows, don't know what to do ?
Yes I l lke your propositionIt looks like there is enough space to put a flat screen monitor on the wall ABOVE the window?
Thanks Stuart, I ll remove on the 9th january. I wait for sales time for good / not too expensive lightings. Inside is nearly finished, I didnt find time to make real measurments but I will. I have to work outside now : finishing walls ( cement & painting) + an automatic gate & a parking place. It's looking great, by the way!!!! When will you be finished?
