Thanks Ro! I appreciate it. So i finally figured how i want to run my ducts for venting the booth. I'll be putting the inline fans in the basement. In the furnace room. I have seen no examples on this forum for how to run ducts through the floor. They always come from the ceiling. I have space to put incoming and out going holes in the booth but the intake from the control is still beyond me. If any body knows of any examples on this forum that would be relevant please let me know. Thanks.
O.k I'm enjoying this conversation with my self. :horse: I got some new info: My small booth space doesn't need an exhaust fan, just pushing air in would be sufficient as long as there is an out take duct with a barometric damper. That's great! I also figured how to take air from CR by building a little box for the intake. All great stuff from this forum. I still can't figure out how to introduce fresh air into the mix. Do i just put a hole in the outside wall? Please have a look at my conduit question from the previous post. Thanks! [/i]
so, I think i have it! I'm still going to use two fans. Take a look at my sketch and please please comment on it. Cheers, (please take a look at my conduit question on page 5)

This is my very first post here, and having read around this site it should be my last as i run away screaming  , unfortunately i am way too stupid to do that and as such am about to start preparations on a 2500 Sq/ft build. I can see your starting to feel that your talking to yourself, but please please please dont stop posting, your information is invaluable. Oh, and by the way, very nice build!!! Iain
:D Thank you Padded cell that is very nice of you, it's good to know i'm helping in some way.
Eran, Thanks for the tip with the insulation! Linden is pretty close to me so that works out great! Ive been watching your build since the beginning and you did a great job and great job documenting the build. You have made a ton of progress in the amount of time you have been doing it.. keep it going!
Thanks rsmooth! Glad the insulation company works out for you, i know how frustrating it can be to be with out a thread for supplies. :-)
Looking good bud! Things really start to take shape once the drywall goes up. I hate drywall, by the way! Nasty job, that stuff. Did you opt not to use Green Glue between the layers of drywall? Not that it is necessary, but it seems to be pretty common around these parts.
Hey James, I used green glue, i just didn't take pictures. My whole build is really dependent on that stuff as other wise i have very little in the way of isolation. If there is any thing worse than sanding down walls that you are going to cover with treatments it's gotta be playing poker with out money, for fun... I've done one layer and managed to mount one door in the process. A lot of people tried to scare me about hanging my own doors but it was really a piece of cake. A couple of hours of very careful measurements and the door went on perfectly, balanced and with manageable clearance on all side. I'll put some pics up later today. :-)
Is it "later today" yet?? (Looking for the updated pics). Great looking build Eran! You move a lot faster than I. I just started taping the last layer of sheetrock. I'm sure you'll leave me in a cloud of sheetrock dust. Good work and keep posting! :D
:D I took some time off the build to concentrate on the house as my mother in law was coming and the wife wanted the house to be just right. She is 9 months pregnant and due any day now so i really had to finish up the baby room and guest room. Lots of work!!! I'll have the pics up soon. :D

Wow, you did all the work on those other rooms and still passed me up! :D I love the menacing sanding picture! Sorry if this is a stupid question, but it appears you didn't tape your corners, but just caulked them?? Wow would that have saved me a lot of work! That thought crossed my mind, and seems like I've seen the idea on the site, but after I read Rod's comments somewhere recommending taping and mudding (over the backer rod/caulk) I am going that way. Nice work!
Hey billshoup Yes, i remember clearly staring at the corners trying to make a decision if i should "corner" them and mud over it. It doesn't look good with out the mud but i'm going to cover it with pine anyway so... I may have passed you but i'm also doing this full time. I've been working on the house, wife, studio all day everyday. I'll be a musician again very soon! 8)
You made me feel better on 2 points: 1) You're doing this full time, so I feel a little better about moving so incredibly slowly. 2) Although I'll doubtless have plenty of treatment in my room that will cover up many of the corners, the drywall corners will still be visible in at least a few places so maybe my taping them will be worth all the extra work. Yeah, won't it be nice to quit being a carpenter and get back to music? Although I must say many of my weekend gigs are what make the studio build progress go so slowly. :D I definitely won't miss having gear tucked all over the house to protect it from sheetrock dust... Keep up the good work!

I've been doing this dance for months now cause this is a new house we moved into and my wife's nesting instinct inflated the amount of work initially planned so my stuff keeps moving from room to room. How do you move a TAC scorpion by your self? :)

I hear ya! It's a beautiful board, but I'll bet it's a bear to move. It would pretty much take up my entire space! Definitely will be nice to have so much (or all) of your work done before the addition to your family!
Well, I finished the house which is a big deal cause now my wife is happy. You got to realize we had a mixing board in our living room for two months... Now i have to do the interior of the studio which is not so disruptive for the rest of the house.
