This is the basement.
The instrument room is indicated.
The cold air intake is from the CR thats right on top as shown in the next pic.
Before i go Building.

The mini split system and the duct look like they are on top of each other but they are not.
Cold air intake into booth not visible from this angle.
A look into the booth.
You can see the cold air intake from CR. it's almost floor level.
Another angle.
See through ... :jammin:
And that's that.
lookin good so far.. keep up the good work
nice to see another build in NJ!
Thanks rsmooth.
Just some comments...
*I obviously have no fresh air intake with this design.
*One mini split system costs like two portable A/Cs
*Installation costs must be a consideration
*A fiend just called and offered me a central air system that has 3 supplies and one return and it will introduce fresh air into the mix. I'm waiting for the specs.
Thanks!
I finished framing the booth, i'll add pics later.
:)
No replies? does it mean it sucks?
:(
I know I'm just a tad overwhelmed having to envision this in 3D!!!
Looks good, for a picture ;)
Well,
I wanted to share the challenges that the actual space presents as the principals of a proper HVAC system are widely discussed on this forum and in Rod's book.
does that mean it's no good?Looks good, for a picture
BTW
Is it to code to put these inline fans in between joists and then close the ceiling up leaving no access to the wiring?
As a build it looks fine too me...I'm just waiting for the installation of the elevator shaft, heck with all that up and down ;)does that mean it's no good?Looks good, for a picture
:(
Building inspector says i can't put the inline fan in the ceiling with out access.
So i either put a hole in the sheetrock for a service hatch or i run the ducts through the basement where the fan can be accessible.
I think i prefer the basement option.
The floor is already my week link so what the hell...
I'll also be able to buy slightly more affordable fans cause they'll be in the basement and not in the wall.
Get ready for another 3D tour...
thanx
Well,
It's getting harder and harder for me to get feedback on here. I tend to blame myself and assume i'm babbling if i get no responses.
Still, i'm pushing forward as my dead lines are looming.
I finally finished the caulking in the CR and moved to the basement.
Finished the ceiling beef up in a day + a day for caulking. Would never imagine it takes 9 hours for a guy to install backer rod and caulk a 10x8 ceiling. Not to mention the excruciating hand pain involved.
Pics!

well,
I finished the framing in the basement, did most of the caulking and installed PVC conduit for audio cables.
Conduit Question:
The conduit connecting the CR to the booth runs parallel to some electric lines.
There is some distance there but i still just want to make sure that's O.K and i won't get interferences.
Here's a couple of pictures of that.
