Hi guys – Hope you’re all well! Sorry for the lack of updates but this is due to a number of factors. Firstly, I found out towards the beginning of May that the people supplying my desks were out of stock until three days ago. Then there was the fact that work went totally manic for the last few weeks, and finally some grossly ‘off-topic’ stuff that I’ll get to in a moment. One bit of studio progress for DDDD and Keith though – This! It’s a late 80’s pre-yess 8 piece Yamaha 9000 recorder custom pro! That shot was taken in its original location in Southend. Here it is in my liveroom! New heads are on order 8” 10” 12” 13” 14” 15” and 18” toms with a 22” bass drum, together with a 6 ½” brass snare. A very rare kit indeed. It sounds absolutely amazing, as loud as hell and has already given me a clear indication as to how incredible my isolation and separation between the rooms really is. We still have to make a riser for it and beef the front main entrance door. We also have to seal up five holes once all the cable runs are in, but considering we’re not completely finished yet, I’m totally blown away. For those of you who maybe forgot, the last couple of days have been a mass of emotions. Yesterday was my birthday, and Saturday was, well……you know….(hear comes the ‘off-topic’ bit but I’m sure you’ll all now know why the studio has been halted temporarily). I hope the pictures speak for themselves!
