Alrighty...moving along...
We have another wall framed. Got the top track secured and the end studs squared up. The home made isolation brackets, and all the studs are screwed on one side. Yeah, I know...started to get tired. I'll finish screwing 'er tonight and add the hat channel on the back to hold the insulation. Then it's time to frame the next wall. May have to wait to frame the entire room. I don't think I'll have enough studs at the moment to get it completely framed, but a good start.
The next step after that is to run more conduits to the tracking rooms for electrical and low voltage. Then insulate, add some RC and drywall w/ a plywood backer (I know, but I need something for securely fastening stuff to the wall).
Hey, does anyone have any ideas on incorporating "Display Cases" into the structure??? I need to build some.
Thanks.

The latest...Finished up the back wall framing for the first tracking room. Attached the hat channel on the back as I did for the control room to hold the insulation in. Wall is secured and ready to go for the next step.
It's not IF, but when. It WILL get finished. As of this moment...REALISTICALLY...I'm going to say 2007. I am officially 2 years now in the "Reconstruction" build of the basement. I originally started demolition around July 2003. Farted around and got everything ripped out on one side of the basement, prepped it and started the first floor in the iso room around Novemeber 2003. Full scale construction started the first week of January 2004 w/ the control room floating floor, and went non stop for 4 months into mid April 2004. Then things got tight, and slowed down for the summer, then picked up again around autumn. I seem to get more accomplished during the cold months than the warm ones. Anyway, I guess I'll say my projection for the Control Room completion will be by summer 2006. Here's what I have left...HVAC duct work, rear wall absorbtion and diffusion. The front speaker baffles, the front wall reversable panels for reflective/absorbtion (depending on 2 mix or 5.1 mix). Trim for the entire control room, including door jams and thresholds, window framing, etc. Once I frame the doors, they can be installed...already have them. Have to frame the windows first to get exact measurements for the glass. Finish up the electrical for the rear of the control room lighting. Iso room, same thing w/ trim, doors, and windows. And of course acoustical treatment. Then I can do panel mounts for control and iso room as well. The new mechanical room I expect to be done probably by the end of this month as far as drywall. That shouldn't be a problem. Just gotta get the drywall. I may even have the main tracking room completely framed by the end of 2005, and possibly the one on the end. I've got a few things to figure out yet w/ existing framing that I'm leaving due to a shower on the other side. Haven't decided yet, but I may be leaning away from the sliding glass doors. Too damn expensive, to much reflection. I'd maybe rather have a 36" door and a large pane of glass for a window between rooms. Well, that's all for the moment. Back to beer drinkin' at the office...LOL. :DAaron, the place is looking very cool! Can't wait to see if finished. _________________ Peace Carl Fuehrer Station X Studio
I think Carl's "if" was a typo -- he probably meant "it" (as in, "I can't wait to see it finished." :-)
Wow -- 2007 -- that's a long way off! (Although come January it probably won't seem like it!)
I'm hoping to be done with mine in the Spring (2006). I hate working in the heat. Today we had a high of 65(F)!
Yeah, we had a low of 16 or so the last couple days. Brrrrrrrrrr.....!!!
Well, just got the pix developed. And getting ready to scan them and go shopping for a digi cam.
I figured it was a typo, but I was due for an update on the status timeline anyway.
OK, here we go. Pix are scanned and shrunk down. Here's the anticipated FIRE pix y'all wanted to see...
A few more...
And there you have it. THANKFULLY it was outside, and NOT the studio!!!
Now, here's a few new framing pix...
That was the bottom track. Here's adding the studs...
There's actually more to it, but they were at the end of the roll, and of course...they always screw up the last 2 pix on the roll when they develop it. Don't know why, they just do.
So there's actually another small frame (you can see the track in the above pix) under the window. And it's just a short wall (more like a bench) that's 17" tall.
I'm going to go buy a camera, and post them next week sometime. But that's all I got for the moment.
Indeed, you're very lucky that fire was squelched before it damaged your home and/or studio in which you've invested your blood, sweat, and tears! :D
Glad to hear you're getting a camera (a digital camera, I presume). :) Good thing -- I was getting ready to take up a collection for you! ;-)
In all seriousness... I remember what a pain it was in the past to take pictures on an ordinary camera, the hassles dropping off the film for developing, picking up the prints, scanning the images into the computer, etc., etc., and I'm sure I'm not alone in appreciating the efforts... All so we can learn! 8) Thanks man. :)

Thanks.
Well, I've taken the plunge. Bought a Digital Camera! So expect to see a whole lot more pix, and a lot less text...
I sure wish I had this thing 2 years ago. There would be a lot more details in the CR construction.
Anyway, Just gotta download the latest and shrink 'em down. I'll have some posted here in awhile.
OK,
Here we go... The first Digital Cam pix...
This is the mechanical room...
Getting ready for insulation... And also showing where the AC return will be to suck out all the warm air from the amps and power supplies...
Started to add insulation...
And now, here's the framing of the back wall of the first tracking room...
Nice pix! Congrats on the digital camera!
Can we get a close-up of what looks like a home-made resilient mounting bracket at the top of your back wall?
--Keith
There is one about 15 or 20 pages back, but I'll show a close up detailed picture of the mount and the process it took to assemble. I'll do that tonight if I get a chance.
Looking good Aaron!
Thank you.
Is that you John?
I haven't checked in on your thread in a while - good to see you're back on track Aaron.
Thanks Phil,
Yeah, been busy. It's been hectic around here at the office, and trying to stay busy at the house w/ the studio. Trying to get the core/prep stuff done so I can continue w/ the construction. It's all the small tedious stuff that takes time, money and energy. I'm just trying not to get to far ahead of myself before thinking it through.
Hope you've been well. Haven't decided yet, but I may try and go out to Southern UT again next summer w/ some friends. Just in the rough conversation stage now. I'll let you know if I head out that way again. Had a blast going through MOAB, Arches National Park, 4 corners, and Mesa Verde back in August.
Well, gotta run. I'll chat later... :D
Stop by if you get a chance, I might actually have the studio finished by then.
OK,
I took detailed pix of the custom mount bracket, but...I forgot the cable to upload them. Doah!
We'll try tomorrow.
Here's the latest...went and picked up more electrical supplies last night. Some 3/4" conduit, etc. I've got lots to do...
OK,
Here's the bracket details...
