Knockdown...
Removed all the crap - and started rendering the old stone walls...
More rendering...
Ripping out the floors...
Ripping, ripping...
Preparing the base for the new foundation...
Floor ready for concreting...
By re-doing the floor, we've won about 6 inches of extra headroom, which was a concern for us, considering the low ceiling.
Building a studio is messy work...
The concrete for the new foundation has been delivered...
...it's gonna be a busy Christmas break
sweet :) Breaking stuff is cool!
(building stuff is even cooler)
looking good man!
Made sure to wear your respirator/dust mask...lol!Building a studio is messy work...
Here's Dingo's plan in the Studio Design forum.
Good luck, Dingo! Your demolition effort most definitely trumps mine, and mine was pretty impressive at the time!
Be careful. (Don't miss the "Safety During Demolition, Construction" thread. 8))

Thanks for the comments guys - floor should be finished before New Years Eve - maybe I'll organize a "Foundation Finished Fest!

Nice work. I hope you planned to do seperate concrete floor for CR and tracking room
I'm amazed at the speed this guy works! At this rate he'll be done in a week!
I sure wish I could see some actual plans though... :!: ...At this point we're only seeing what you've done and not what you're going to do, so there's no opportunity for you to get feedback before you spend the money and exert the effort.

Dosen't look like there are any chairs under the mesh :?: It needs to set higher to be effective as renorcement for the slab.
Here are the basic plans - I have slightly modified this design
Q1: Will cinderblock will give better isolation than wood frame + plasterboard?
Q2: If I build the reecording booth from cinderblock, do I still need to fill the air gap with rockwool, or is this a waste of time & cash?
Q3: If I build with cinderblock, how should I treat the wall differently than plasterboard?
Cheers,
Dingo
