Looking at your last photo, it seems like ( I could be wrong) the insulation (wool) has been pressed too far to in the back of the frame. This way you won't have the added advantage of the wool pressing against the boards in order to lessen vibrations. Nice progress, u sure work hard (which ain't always a good thing, but we've discussed that already I think)

On July 10, I've got to have stage 1 finished - I have a mate coming over from Down Under (I'm in Germany) to do some jamming ;) Must have the essentials done by then: *Walls & ceilings drywalled, mudded & caulked *Electro livewired *Floor coverings installed *Gear wired & fired up At least then we'll be able to do some scratch vox in the control room. I don't expect the paint, doors or bass traps/slat resonators to be started until after he leaves again on the 16 July. Talk about cutting it close ;) D.
Well, we're in the home straight. The vocal booth needs to be caulked and mudded. I spent the weekend doing some 2nd fix electrical and installing the second layer of drywall on the control room ceiling. 7 days to go, here's the plan: Mon/Tue, July 2 & 3 - Over the next 2 days (nights) finish the drywall on the walls in the control room, caulk and mud it. Wed July 4 - Paint undercoat entire studio Thu July 5 - Final paint entire studio Fri July 6 - Final electro, install carpet & wood flooring Sat/Sun July 7/8 - Install console & racks This gives me 2 days for "delays", and if things go according to schedule (Yeah, right...) I may have time to start building bass traps & soffits, although at this stage I think that's pushing it. We'll see... Am I forgetting anything? More pics tonight... Cheers, Dingo
OK - 7 more cuts of drywall and it's done. Tomorrow night is caulking and mudding time. Picked up the wood flooring and the paint too. Also had a chance to hang the "future" cloud to see what it'll look like when it's made. Gotta change the blue fluro to a LED, make a frame for the rockwool & lights etc., but I think u can get the general idea from the foto... Cheers, D.

You're doing an awesome job. Keep posting them pix :-)
Thx Reta! I spent the last 2 days staying on schedule: "Mon/Tue, July 2 & 3 - Over the next 2 days (nights) finish the drywall on the walls in the control room, caulk and mud it." - DONE I don't care if I never, ever, EVER see a tube of caulk again. Without a doubt, this stuff is the most disgustingly sticky cr*p I've ever had the displeasure of working with. And I say AMEN that it's over! Tonight I hope to: "Wed July 4 - Paint undercoat entire studio" Maybe I'll also have time to start building the frames for the bass traps too, but we'll see. Cheers, D.
man you work quick :!: Its looking good cant wait to see the finished pics Cheers
Thx Medboyle! The undercoat is done - everything's still on schedule - touch wood. I'm going out to try and build a cloud LOL should be a good larf... Undercoat pics...

The painting's all done. I'm hoping to make some good progress on the flooring tomorrow :) D.
Spent last night on my hands & knees...installing the flooring in the control room ;) Still have to pick up some steel floor profile (for a nice finish where the carpet meets the wood) and install it. The vox booth should have the flooring installed by today. I'm sort of doing it on the fly, as I STILL haven't decided if it should be all wood OR half wood/half carpet. I've got a gig tonight, so I won't be able to pull an allnighter doing construction. Hopefully, I can get some bass traps happening by the end of Sunday. Pics to follow...
I was able to get the flooring done. Here's a pic of the carpet going in the control room...see the half built mini cloud in the doorway :)

I dragged in the console...

...and more racks:

As you can see from the pics, I still have not had time to install lighting, bass traps and soffits in the CR. It's starting to come together though. I'm doing cabling tomorrow... The vox booth has a nice wooden floor now - I'm really pleased with how it turned out:
