Hi I'm Pete, I'm about to start work on my new recording / rehearsal studio It's a 33ft x 10ft 6" double length garage at the moment, I have plans to build a 'room within a room' inside the front half, with a removable partition that operates like a garage door (because it is one) :) The back half will be a control room and lounge area I'm looking to spend in the region of £2000-£3000 with a build time of around a year. I'm trying to source most of my materials from ebay and car boot sales to keep costs down, but at the same I need good enough sound isolation to avoid annoying the neighbours. All comments and views are greatly appreciated Pete
Here is a rough idea of how the studio and house floor plan will look (The blue circles are supposed to represent Musicians :)

One thought - you want to get you mix desk positioned symmetrically in the control room even if you need to turn the desk.
