Your country, if I can trust this information, seems to have about 6 months of below freezing and the rest of the season is above freezing. That would explain the use of an actual vapor barrier (versus a vapor retarder which is typical in warmer climates) in your neck of the woods :) Still, a properly ventilated roof will allow any vapor to be moved out that has passed thru the retarder ( not a barrier, which stops it completely at the source). That's good information, so I guess I have been educated all the way from Finland:) What a great day in time it is!That's strange. In Finland vapour barrier should be installed to the outside walls and also to the ceiling. We have saying that we live in plastic bags... -janne

sounds familiar :) Those temperatures are measured from Helsinki, the capital of Finland. It's one of our southest towns and temperatures are more lower in northern Finland. We use thick insulation layers and build our houses air tight to keep them warm.Your country, if I can trust this information, seems to have 6 months of below freezing and the rest of the season is above freezing. I'm sure you are right on this. In Gregs construction thread found other example of using a vapour barrier on ceiling: viewtopic.php?f=2&t=11485&start=210. Whole thread is very interesting and informative by the way.Still, a properly ventilated roof will allow any vapor to be moved out that has passed thru the retarder ( not a barrier, which stops it completely at the source).
This site indeed is very good place to share information. I've learned a lot from studio desing, construction and acoustics just reading yours and other professionals great articles and advices :D -janneThat's good information, so I guess I have been educated all the way from Finland:) What a great day in time it is!
I draw more detailed wall, floor and ceiling elevations of each wall. First picture shows the roof truss construction. Second one shows the wall sections.
Section: A-A. I didn't draw whole roof truss construction. Only bottom chord of the roof truss is showing.
Section: B-BSection: C-CSection: D-DI think I'm ready to start construction :D only the weather could be a little warmer

Finally It's warm enough to start the construction. Actually I've started allready building my outer ceiling at last summer but I was so busy at my "real" work that I couldn't done much. Only couple of plywood slices top of the rafters. My first mission is to finish my outer ceiling and I'm gonna start it with the cilencer boxes and fan units which goes in the attic. I draw couple of pictures which shows the places of cilencers.
Maybe I should open new thread at the construction forum to post construction pictures my on going project.

One thing, my whole home studio plan includes control room also. I can use the room (see picture) for that purpose. dimensions are W=2,8m L=3,4 H=2,5m. I must take cables into the control room through the attic. I was thinking 12 xlr and 4 XLR and ¼" TRS combo jacks. That's more than enough for my purposes.
Edit: that's not my whole house showing in that picture :D
Heh - great design.
Is it built?
How's it all going?
