I think the room is looking great, congrats on the build.
Any ETA on completion? Has it all gone as well as you hoped?
Peace,
Andy

I think we need an update  Everything goes smooth... I have a small update. I mount my skylines (back wall is still waiting on them), I finished the main four corners (superchunks) The top corners will be finished... I'm completely broke right now :jammin: however, the room sounds amazing already :) Kind regards, M.I think the room is looking great, congrats on the build. what brand of absorbers are those?
I also wonder the same thing...
I'm having to cut a 160mm hole in my ceiling leaf in order to put the vent duct... that will for sure screw the airtight system
Self made with my friends...what brand of absorbers are those?
cool :) Any more info on that? We loooooove pix. They look pretyy for sure! So be honest, your room looks great. The absorbers do too. But the colors together... dunno. The black is very heavy on the eyes, kinda distracting.Self made with my friends... CRUX Acoustics. Will be available in market soon.
I leave my front wall in white because of that, but you know... when you need more absorbtion  ...and white is gone
however I feel very good inside my studio when I'm working... it's a nice and warm feeling...
oh.... and thank you!
more info soon ;)
Hi there. Long time huh :)
The room is slowly coming together. I'm not finished with the acoustics yet (more diffusers & bass traps still to come), but hey... the room already sounds fantastic. Questeds can finaly show what they can and I am really blown away by these speakers, especially with their accuracy.
I'm currently waiting for a new desk, this table that I have now is just horrible and to big. I am currently at the stage of buying new stuff... I bought Euphonix Mc Control & Mc Mix some time ago... great product but the build quality is quite poor. I'm also buying new DA converter, Weiss DAC2 will be probably my new friend soon and some more hardware.
Best,
Mike
some photos with shity camera...
and some better photos...
How did you settle on the diffusers and what brand did you go for?
They must be an LED, cause standards lights would start a fire. Dichroic light's need plenty of space above to breath. How is the sound isolation?I forgot to answer that one... sorry. If you don't cut holes in your leaf than you can't istall lights like these don't you think? So my inner leaf is 5cm thick but we modify these lights and we cut only 2,5 cm to fit lights in and a little hole for the electricity. So I still have 2,5cm of inner leaf left and everything is still air tight if you were worried about this  M.
Well its too late but thats why you build a false ceiling below the inner leaf to mount your lights... or like me. tile ceilings are always cheap, fast and cool to mount lights on
They look alot like real traps?
I'm starting to wonder if Mike still loves us?
Love is a strong word :D
I'm asking myself the same question lol My english is not perfect, so sometimes it's hard to explain some things. About my lights... we've done it that way, because I wanted so... because of time, money and because it's easyer to mount cloud or other acoustic elements later. The lights have also been modified (we decoupled them), so the electrical part is above the ceiling and then we've been able to seal the lights in it easily. Yes I could do it otherwise, but I didn't... you already know why. @ Envy... the sound isolation is great. I have a complete silence inside. I'm not saying that my control room is perfectly build, but I sure think it's one of the best sounding around. I had two mix and mastering engineers here and they were amazed how good and accurate everything sounds... this was my goal and there is still some room for improvemen, because I'm not finished with the acoustics yet. I will also attach some measurements, maybe even one of you will say... wow Mike, the graphs look great  PeaceI'm starting to wonder if Mike still loves us?

Hey Mike,
Just saw this thread for the first time and I just wanted to say that I am deeply impressed with your construction and taste. Along with having the patience of a saint considering the tone at times in this thread.
Congrats!
Thank you very much lowlife, I'm trying to do my best here

Hi there,
I made some updates at my place in the last 2 months. I build my own desk, change my Apple cinema 23" monitors for LG 47" SL8000, bought active Avantone Mix Cubes and Crane Song Avocet.
The whole update bring me a better stereo image, the bass is even more detailed. I can EQ, compress, color the sound, etc. in much more detail now, so I can't complain about anything actualy. I do have a little dip at 90-120hz (everything else looks great for now), but there is still missing 6 of bass traps in my upper corners. I will mount 4 of them this weekend. I do have measurement graphs, but I will upload all of them, when I finished with the acoustics. I will also upload one short clip of one of my tracks, so you can hear what is going on here.
...
Kind regards,
M.
Looking at the angle of the desk monitors, you must stand up a lot!!!
It looks good though if it suits your needs.

Cheers.
Very nice work and it was great to have a pro designer as a friend to help! Have you done any acoustic measurements to see if the desk has any reflections that need to be adjusted?
