Hi All, :D I must say, I have gotten a lot of great ideas from everyone here. This site rocks! Anyway, I looked at the construction page for doors and windows. I looked at the diagrams of the windows section and they make somewhat sense, but I'm still confused. Does anyone one have a step-by-step that shows pictures of framing a window? It would be most appreciated! Thanks much! John
Welcome to the forum, John! Are these the threads you found, on the the "REFERENCE AREA" announcement thread? There are some basic framing resources out on the 'Net which show conventional framing methods... I bought this framing book early on in my project, plus I especially like the Details for Conventional Wood Frame Construction manual by the American Wood Council. Just realize that you cannot follow those instructions exactly for good isolation -- the required techniques are very different, but at least you'll be familiar with the conventional method as a starting point. --Keith
guys, heres one more link...some of my battle of mis-understanding on how to do a window. sharward, i still think it might be worth it to include that link in the ref section, as it has very detailed steps from rod and steve! good luck jmartell... ps... i've yet to install my second window, so when i do, i'll try and photo document the steps as best I can. hopefully within a week or two (if thats not too late for ya). kevin
