I've been searching for an answer to this question on here for about an hour and a half and I just can't seem to find it. Sorry if it's already been asked or discussed.
When building a wall for sound isolation, what are the benefits of using Rockwool over R13 and vise-versa. The frequences for sound absorption are about equal but I'm still not sure which would be better to use inside of a two-leaf wall.

I believe that what he said was that insulation that he used in the panels of the garage door were to keep it a two-leaf wall and that it wasn't for sound isolation. I assume that he was using the rockwool inside of the actual wall though. What would be the benefits of using the rockwool over the R13? I can find the R13 for cheaper and in easier places. Is rockwool made specifically for sound absorbtion whereas R13 is just for heat?
Edit: I just saw this topic:

Between Johns Manville and Rockwool, is there really not that large of a difference as well in sound purposes? Thanks.
R13 or Rockwool?

For me the post below was an important one...

Bootsy, be sure to check the stickies and reference area before hunting for info. A lot of "FAQ" can be found there. One of the post above was in those areas. Other than that you'll have to do a search for more specific topics.
Yes, it's VERY time consuming, but I can't tell you how many times I've looked for one thing and found something else that was just as important (if not more important) than what I was originally looking for.
Hope this helps.
