Guys....im having a real problem here. I cant decide on what SOFTfi 2 do... the blackborder pictures (Kendale Studio )... i cant understand how do you have those hangers if your speaker is suported on a pilar.... Maybe im 2 confused now...i must be tired or something. The CIMENT BLOCK suport is atracting me. But then those hangers belllow, i cannot put them.... http://www.johnlsayers.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=8994 - my post about it.... Man, im having trouble on this part... Thanks again Djo

Well....this adicted forum did it again Kendale, i went 2 your post (once again) and found the answer...So those hangers are below the monitor. Ok....So would i put them as seen on the pic bellow ? Also, i can see you guys use fibreglass, rockwool and 702 (if not mistaken)... I only have the pink stuff available in the market... Ill start on monday whith them... Thanks Djo
Hi guys... Here some photos... Its been a war working against the clock....but its going... The plastics its 2 separet the wood (treated whith anti fungus on the base) from the floor... Im still in doubt for the softfit system.... I wanted 2 use the brick system but if i do it theres no space for the hangers (bass trap) !! So i think ill stick 2 Jhons plan.... Check the pics and comment if you please.... Kanimambo !!! Djo

Some pictures of the work.... The plastic in the cover is 2 prevent the possible water that leaks 2 damage the gypsum ceiling.... One of the guys made the hangers whith GYPSUM BOARD (plaster i think), so i had 2 correct it and use 16mm "wood"... Hope it makes a diference... Ok, just an update... thanks djo

Guys... This will be the first Softfit speakers in my country!! So im a real amateur in this matter... Its done and now its time 2 close it and try the speakers...the only question now is the speaker EQ settings.... Should i leve the HF and LF level´d ? Should i boost some frequencies?? By the way, my monitors are the ROLAND GS90A...the pic is from the catalogue... Please advice as soon as possible... thanks DJO

chances are good you need to cut the bass - usually 6db. check on the speaking of speakers forum - Barefoot had posted some calculations and a schematic for a high pass filter to assist in solving this.
Ppl... Are the pictures clear ?? Or did i exagerated on the "compression" ?

I did my first recording yesterday and found out clearly that the boot is 2 ALIVE!! So im putting carpet on the floor instead of wood.... If it doent work fully, ill put absortion panels on the ceiling and on the door...if it dosent work? ILL BURN THE STUDIO and focus on school!! ehehehe Djo

looking great! definitely consider hanging the absorbers and cloud so those occasions when you want the booth to be more live you can just drop them off or reverse them...
Thanks Gulffo...Thanks J.... THE FLOOR - iv put a plastic shit 2 "fight" the humidity. The guy hos making the floor wanted 2 put 10mm sponge before the floor, i arranged 20mm and it looks it will help, if not whith the sound , whith the floor irregularity...Whithout it , it would be quite HARD 2 walk and would make noise also.... THE CLOUDS - i hanged those 2 on the CR....i think the sound on the CR is GREAT!! I dont now if its a good sign or not, but i found out now what a real SWEET SPOT is!! Because 10cm away from it makes a HUGE diference!! when im on it, the sound is WONDERFULL!!! Even the LFs became sweet (my speakers are 90w so they are strugling 2 keep up whith the 20m2 of the CR. Gulfo, you mentioned 2 diferent things that i thought were the same....HANGERS and CLOUDS.... those 2 i hanged on the CR seiling, are CLOUDS or HANGERS??!!ehheehe..... Im doing the same on the boot... so i m missing one of your recomendations....clouds or hangers?? Well....wayting 4 feedback... DJO

cool Djo - love the cloth finish, very cool. Those clouds look perfect mate ;) Glenn - djo was confused between hangers and clouds. We sorted it out via PM.
thanks John! yea, i meant hanging an absorber over the live wall surfaces to tone it down when you find it too lively... Djo - its looking really sharp!
THe day it was DONE !!! At least 2 the level that i can work on it....More details later....thanks

Aloha Djo, Congratulations! It's looking good! :D Aloha 8)
 Cogratulations, Djo of Maputo! Looks really nice! I hope if my wife and I ever go on safari, we can look you up and pay you a visit! Can you post some more pictures of your mini split air conditioner setup? I think it's so interesting how mini splits are so popular in other parts of the world. :-) They're just now starting to get a market here in the US. I just got one hooked up on my build a few weeks ago. I'm also curious about the specifications -- manufacturer, BTUs, etc. I'm also curious about the costs in your part of the world! Also, are they still using R-22 refrigerant there? I imagine so... It's being outlawed here in the United States, being replaced with more "environmentally friendly" R-410A. --Keith
LOVE THE STUDIO MY BROTHER, GREAT WORK, HOPE TO VISIT IT ONE DAY SOON. ONE MOEMEDI
Hi guys!!! Thanks 4 all the suport...the studio is running, my producer is working on the beats and im searching 4 someone 2 do the recording and open 2 the public... My idea is now 2 continue the project and work on the second area. As you can see on the plant, theres more space... i wanted 2 use the other room 2 make a reharsal room.... drum, guitar, bass...etc.... and one pc so the producer can work there.... The creation room... Can you guys help me on the design? acoustic treatment and so... even the instruments display..... I now the space is small but iv rehaersed whith bands in half that space!! 8) Should i open a new topic or keep this one ? THANKS DJO PS - as soon as i have some free time ill do a resume on the studio building... THE AC is 9000BTUs and works fine. Ill get the specs after...

depending on how much isolation you need, maybe you can merge the treatment walls via inside-out walls, or create a rectangular room with isolation and separate treatments. i converted the waiting area to a producer desk with treatments...

Excellent work Djo ! , cool shining colors  about the slat resonators , did you do any calculations for the spaces and width of the slats ? Wael
Thanks ... The treatment of the room was made by Jhon so i think he made the "maths".... But the spaces are not random, they follow a pattern or something.... DJO
Great work Djo, THe studio looks sweet, it's been a pleasure following your progress and will keep this post on hand for my build. Hope the next section goes well for you. lil
