Thanks!
No, the monitors are almost in position, they'll be lying down and be somewhat tilted forward to get in right position ('le sweetie spot, as the french call it :D). The back wall is now about 500mm away from the back of the speakers, the wall is angled 8-10° and there's a 95mm layer of Roxull behind those slots.. hopefully this will be enough. Anyways the Genelecs I'm using has a rolloff switch so if necessary I'll reduce some more. Haven't actually got around testing it yet as there's way too many other things to get done before that.
In a worst case scenario I've to add bigger absorbers behind the speakers.
Tomorrow I'll be building all the panels, about 20 smaller ones (1200x580mm) and 1 big cloud for the CR ceiling (2400x1200mm). I'll bring my camera to the woodshop tomorrow and post them here later on.

About the floor...could you please tell me how thick the underlay is ??
I presume this is a laminate floor ??
BTW.. Is that a Melos echo chamber behind the 201 ??
bout 5 till 10 mm (+/- 1/4") will do fineLooks great ! About the floor...could you please tell me how thick the underlay is ?? I presume this is a laminate floor ??
the floor in the CR is just laminate ontop of 5mm (or was it 8mm?) "acoustic" underlayment, can'r remember the brand but it's almost like http://www.solidsoundusa.com/ the LR has a floated deck but it has the same underlayment just under the wood flooring. a :arrow:Looks great ! Yes it is!! I just bought it on eBay for 20€. BUT it's behind a 301 not a 201 8)  and to the right you have a KORG Stage Echo that also just arrived. (maybe you can tell that I'm crazy for Echoes).  :oops:BTW.. Is that a Melos echo chamber behind the 201 ??
Just got back from the woodshop and of course I forgot to bring my camera (argh, kill me), but since I just got out of the cast I've been captive in for the last three month's my hand is pretty useless so it took me about 4 hours to get all the material in right sizes and shapes. I finshed two frames and have 12 more to go and of course the big cloud.
So, tomorrow I PROMISE I'll bring the camera and take some snapshots of the progress..

thanks camistan.
and here as promised some pictures of the ceiling frames.
this is the woodshop I'm working in, we mainly do furniture but specialise in interiors for boats. Like this.

and these are a couple of the machines I used for cutting the MDF to the proper size.

here's the first frame, just basic 90° angles and screws..

and here's the 45° cut corners to make those flimsy frames a lot more stable.

I also finished the big frame but forgot to take a picture of it..
so. now I'll have to get a transport to the studio where I'll fit the isolation, cover it with cloth and attach them to the ceiling. The big one is going to be a slotpanel with the same oak finish as the rest of the CR.
I'll keep posting..

:arrow:the good stuff!
ok, got all the frames to the studio and startet inserting the isolation.

covered it with black cloth and then I ran into some issues with deciding how many oak panels I should go for... 3, 5, 7?

so I'm kind of stuck there for the weekend.. I have a pile of oak left, so I'll just have to think a little..
External image, not preserved — original: http://www.kunst.no/berthling/studio/pile.JPG
but i buildt the big cloud right after the small panels..

the thing is it's pretty heavy.. so perhaps I redo this one trying to reduce the weight somewhat... the oak is way heavy I know, maybe I could get thinner ones.
next update will probably be in the beginning next week as I progress with the panels.. 2 weeks until new electricity is installed..
