John, I understand and I'm sorry if I offended you.
As I said above your designs are fantastic and I love the corner booth design you drew up. It's beautiful and it's obvious it would sound great. It doesn't work for me for a few reasons and I should have explained that I guess. I'm working with an existing closet for now and trying my best to make it sound as good as possible for the short term. I need to turn the existing bedroom into a mixing area and that would cut into that area and throw it out of balance due to the room design. I haven't posted any of that because I just don't have the funds to attempt it right now. My fault for not providing enough info. I'm dealing with space and budget constraints and really need to attempt to correct and use the existing closet for now if it will work at all. If it does not then I will have to deal with the consequences. I know that I am the responsible party for these decisions regardless of whatever advice I choose to follow or not here.
I meant it when I said I was saving your design. My long term goal is to create a new building that would incorporate a proper booth and mixing area. If I can prove my business model is viable then I may be able to attempt that in a few years.
I will freely admit I should have sought expert help before I ever started working on this thing, and I did not. I read your recording manual several years ago, along with Rod's book when it came out blah blah blah and then I went from memory. I screwed up.
So now I'm rereading everything I can find and trying to do a better job understanding it. I've got an engineer who's built broadcast and production facilities helping me out now and I had planned on continuing to post here. If you would prefer I do not then I understand. I have no wish to do anything that would harm your reputation or your business. I've been lurking for a long time and have gained so much insight thanks to you and everyone that contributes here. And I really appreciate all the valuable knowledge you so generously provide a home for.
Thank you again for taking the time to make the sketchup, it really is fantastic and I'm sorry if I gave you the mis-impression I didn't appreciate it. I certainly do.

No need to apologise - I'm sorry - I didn't realise you were in a closet. My Bad as they say. :)
Well I'm sorry for not being clear in my early posts and not doing my best to present my situation in as concise a manner as possible. I know it's hard to follow so much information on such a large forum.
I've got some family and school work stuff to do today but I'll measure out the entire space (bedroom and closet) and post the floorplan later so everyone can see the overall layout. I suck at sketchup but I should be able to draw something that's pretty accurate in 2d using paint or something.
Let's see if I can make this make sense with some sketches.
Here's the bedroom layout as I drew it:I attempted to recreate the room as it is now in Sketchup. I'm having problems, particularly with the 45o angles. The wooden door leads into the booth area (dimensions in earlier post):EDIT: I've taken out the fancy components in the sketchup and got it uploaded.
I also corrected a wall length to be more accurate. I think the 45 degree cuts are close. The lengths are right but I don't know how to make sure the angles are correct. Anyway, my lame sketchup is uploaded if you want to see it.
My plan is to build John's modular studio components using leftover Insul shield after the booth build. I'm hoping to have close to enough since I ordered an extra bag and a half or so. I'll have to figure out how to add all that to sketchup and check the specs before I do.
I'm really glad I took the time to sketch out the whole room. It gives me a better idea of the layout. I see a problem now that I didn't see before. I was planning on putting part of the ventilation to the right side of the booth door, but I'm going to need to put a corner trap over there for the main room aren't I?
I guess I'd better rethink the ventilation placement. I see in John's corner booth design that he has the intake and the exhaust both placed up high. What if I put the fresh air intake over the door? Something like this?
And then have the exhaust running through the ceiling into the attic on the other end. Thoughts?
Well the booth is basically done except for accessories - copy stand and light, that sort of thing. They're on their way.
Here's a 2 minute video of the booth:

The mix is a bit bass heavy. I have some left over Insul-Shield that I'm going to use to start treating the bedroom/studio to help correct that but that's another project.
