I think i lost my SD card for the camera.. fuck I couldnt take more pictures but we are going FAAAAAAAST! Its finally looking like a studio now We installed all the laminated floor and tile ceilings (black 8) ) We left all 88 slot pieces drying out for the next hand (white) and the slots across the window section will be barnished (tone like the laminated floor !) Next step is make frames and put fabric, and cover the spaces left Finally, build the silencers.. get my friend rafael to wire all the electrics and treat the control room Sorry for no pics, but i swear it looks awesome! he hee
I will be out for the weekend (father day), maybe the sunday?
No prob! Please remember to get the "laucha" at your office. so u have it available for the weekend. Otherwise. we wont find where is that god damn conduit going to !!
Wow, I suck big time! My studio is almost DONE and I havent took any pictures :horse: :shot: Well. I'll try to get a SD card soon I still have to put one more glass on the CR side, and find a god damn way to treat it properly. So far, with the acoustic tile ceiling and my 6 panes on the walls, I get it pretty dry but I still get some flutter echo when claping my hands Any ideas? I'll build the silencers and make the ventilation work in a few weeks, because i need to start finishing an album right now
I'm not gonna help you anymore untill you post pictures, damnit! (use yer phone if ye have ta)

tsss, ugly!!
Looks awesome Javier!!! The window adds some cool depth. Nice choice on colors too :yahoo: good job Peace Tom
Thanks! Glad you liked it I just found out our local rockwool distributor can make for you panels in ANY density you want! I feel like shit because I wished I used a denser one ( I bought like 38-40kg). So, Stuart, if you are reading this, please give me a call because we could order together plus a few friends a bunch of bags.. They are obviously more expensive than the regular homedepot ones but it will be worth the investment. Furthermore, I will replace my existing fiberglass panels on my red panels with the new panels in order to reach a flatter frec response. What do you think?
This question is kind of urgent so if anyone could chime in... My glass dealer just called saying that he cant sell me the 12mm laminated glass because the last sheet they bought was smaller than my required size. Plus, they won't order a new 12mm sheet just for me because that kind of thickness doesnt sell here at all. I already placed a 10mm glass on the other side. so, Will placing another 10mm will be a kind of issue, regarding the coincidence factor on the glass? If isnt a big mistake, I'd like to just buy another 10mm one. Less hassle, because like I said.. its pretty hard to get 12mm here and If I do, it will be probably super expensive. In my case, the store had to order 12mm sheets months ago for a jewel store, so they had some leftovers they could use for me.. but not anymore What should I do?
give me the dimentions of the glass, I will ask to my contact.
Dimentions are 110 x 59.6 cm Give me a call whenever u get an answer!
hai Javier, I was kiddin' ofcourse. Looks super! You don't have any "detailed" pix of constructions? keep it up!!! About the glass; you had an agreement with the dealer already? if you, he's gotta deliver. period. Aren't there any other dealers in the neighborhood? 12mm ain't that hard. It's commonly used in buildings for "savety glass", for example. But, 2x 10mm won't be that horrible. The resonating frequency will both be the same, sure, which lead to a deeper dip. Around 1200 Hz. hmmm.. get that 12mm from somebody else then!
Sorry, no detaled pics! We did all the slots, cloth in a week, and that was the time I lost my sd card.. But I was thinking of making a step by step tutorial on how to stretch fabric and mount them by modular frames for cloth walls, because I need to make a few more I'll keep searching for a 12mm glass then !

Oh yes, please do! Your build (and your handiwork on the fabric) looks so well done. Very inspiring attention to detail. -Doug
Thanks! I will do. promess. Actually its much easier than I thought, but it will be worth showing it to some people like me that didnt realize how easier it was before actually doing it. :) Also, I managed to get the 12mm glass!! :yahoo: I talked to my partner who is building a studio next to mine in a few weeks, so we all will be ordering 12mm glass from the store, in that case they agreed to purchase a sheet for us. I purchased a NICE black/coffee desk from Homedepot that works amazingly for my studio! I have my monitors fired up (NS10s) and I need to make two solid stands for my Adams. I will go for 3" PVC tubes filled with dry sand on plywood top and bottom bases. That along with finishing an album I left on stand-by due to this construction, will lead me to 2.0 build, where I will make my superchunks and deal with proper treatment on my control room. So far It sounds decent but i need MUCH more bass trapping. My fiberglass tile ceiling already made the room pretty dry so I dont want any more broadband absorption otherwise it will become dull
More pics! Finished light work on CR. THANKS RAFA !!! The only issue is that one lightbulb exploded! God damn homedepot!!! This is the second lightbulb that passed away since I started this build. They only lasted minutes! Snake is also mounted on the wall. What could be a removable way to seal the conduit? I don't wanna caulk it because I might want to throw another cable in the future or something. Any ideas? I started building my speaker stands. I only got to paint the PCV tubes. I will continue tomorrow and decide how high I want them to be. So far. They are 1 meter high. Plus the speaker, something like 1.2m. but I'll have to see how it is to my ears when I sit down. Cheers
