New Building

How thick should my walls be, should I float my floors (and if so, how), why is two leaf mass-air-mass design important, etc.

New Building

Post by jrbass62 »

I'm going to build a new rehearsal/recording studio building on my property.I have 20 acres of pasture in Starke Fl. There is already a 200 amp service there. I put in a few years ago, as well as a well and septic.I'm going to pour a concrete slab and build wood walls, and have trusses built for the roof. I have no idea about what I need to build for it to sound/perform for what I want..There will be full band rehearsals/recording. I was thinking about a 30ft.x 30ft. square building. And build the inside to whatever it takes. My recording will be computer based,I am open to any suggestions..Thanks..JR. :D

do some research of your own. there's a lot of information on this forum and elsewhere.

I agree with Steve entirely: First, please read the forum rules for posting (click here). You seem to be missing a couple of things!

And second, since you are aren't at all sure what you want or how to go about building it, you should probably consider hiring a studio designer to design the place for you. Send a Private Message to John himself, and ask him to quote for doing that.
