Then I did some phone calls and someone convinced me to switch to acoustic foam.
I sold one of my drums for the acoustic foam...

learning and comprehending written English is actually a good skill in this case as the answers you seek are in those books...

if all the answers are in those books, why a recording design studio forum then?

Timo,

You said you liked experimenting.
When I saw your pictures I must smile. That's hardly experimenting.
Books help you to sort out your brain in a logical sequential manner and explain the principles involved.
A forum can help you to go further in-depth on specific uncertainties.

Experimenting means trying something in a systematic way, keeping the variables limited, so you can conclude something from the experiment.
Making a patchwork from e.g. your ceiling is not or hardly experimenting.

Once you understand or feel the principles you're after, you can check which materials answer your goals.
:) Reading your comments and seeing your pictures makes me understand gullfo's comment.
Best regards - Eric Desart

Dear Eric, your presence it's important, I'm not done with my funny drummer story jet.. :) . Yes I also did many systematic experiments, then I stopped, because I was a little sick and tired.
Also I didn't want any war against any company or between you and gullfo... so I decided to quit right there!
OK.....I will edit the funny comments now.

DON'T YOU TOUCH A THING!!!

It does tell a story...maybe someone else will be able to understand the importance of slowing down and doing all the right steps in the right order to avoid such time consuming work.

Ok Xspace I just removed the funny part it's OK like that?

Yes!!! Slowing down !!! I totally agree! I strongly suggest to avoid such time and MIND consuming work I did.
 don't ever GLUE!!! scraping walls and painting is very hard!

The story continue...
...all the foam was out of the room, and all 4 inc panels inside..
but still... :?
I made some more calls etc..
and then I built hundreds and hundreds of square feet of poly's ....

So bloody right! been through that myself, it's hell!!! probably the hardest, most tiring and frustrating part of a rebuild is to tear apart what was glued..

Best thing is have the acoustic stuff fit in place by themselves or hang them (removable).
Second best is to screw
Third best is to nail

Cheers,

I filled up all my room and storage with all the drummer foam, acoustic foam, 4 inc fiberglass , poly's , ceiling tiles, blankets, risers, paint, studs, etc..., not more space to walk.

talk about systematic experiments inside a car garage...
I have buried alive ! Every day a new hope.
still hoping to :jammin: one day.
