I have a 24'x15' building with a window at each long end of the building. Click here to see the building and the design post.. My original intent was to remove both windows and fill them in, but now I am debating so I thought I would get some other opinions. What acoustical disadvantages would I have? Does having the windows create a bigger or more open environment, haha...what the crap am I talking about  . Just pros and cons! Thanks!
windows are nice if you like the view. you just have to consider any loss of isolation caused by the windows not being sealed or having enough mass to duplicate the isolation provided by the walls. also, windows can introduce reflections into your room so one option is to add heavy drapes to cover them when doing critical mixes. or you could build hinged window plugs to cover them completely when you want them sealed.
Just a small addition to Glenn, 1) As Glenn said isolation is important to take into account. 2) Reflections of a window aren't necessarily a minus if they don't disrupt anything, and can even be supportive. Floors, doors, walls in a tracking and these large sliding glass doors often used are also reflective. If disturbing see Glenn's reply. Often people DO like natural light (and view) in their work environment.
