Hello folks- this is my first time posting but I've enjoyed the info presented on this site for may months. I've looked over some of the previous 2 car garage topics on here but have not found a solution for my specific set up. I've noticed that most of the designs here are a multiple room deal- control room and live room or booth. I'm a composer and usually record everything in my control room. Because of that I prefer the 1 larger control room setup. Given the dimesions of my room (after sealing garage doors): 20' long 17' wide 9.5' height what would you folks say is the best layout for this room? Remember I intend to record in it mostly but also would want to do some light mixing. Thank you for your help. Tony

you might take a look at John's SAE site where he has a 2 car garage sized studio design that may be just right. if not, let us know...
Tony, Unfortunately, no-one seems able or prepared to assist with situations like these although Gullfo did offer some advice when I posted about this here..... http://www.johnlsayers.com/phpBB2/viewt ... ght=#63679 I have a similar problem in that I need to have an "all in one" room, although my area is approx., 22' x 20' x 7'6". Due to a relatively recent natural disaster, I had to totally "gut" my room and now that it's all going back together I'm hoping to improve upon my original layout but I'm doing it based on gut instinct and what past experience has shown me was wrong with earlier setups. 8)
Aloha, I'm willing to take a shot at it. What are the measurements of the water heater area and door location? Aloha 8)
Thanks for the help guys. That water heater area is about 5' wide and 2' deep. I plan on making it a closet etc... The door is about 3'. thankyou for taking an interest. Tony
maybe this works? basically adding trapping in the corners with slats which also reduce the room angles. front of console is a bass trap. doors - not much you can do, you have to get in and out. monitors on stands behind your mix desk. overhead 2 large clouds with lights (since you've sealed all your walls and ceiling and don't want large holes in them.)

Thank you gullfo- this is definitely a good option. It is similar to what I had when my studio was in South Beach. Can you point me to some threads regarding the construction of those clouds with lights and those slats. Anybody else have any alternate design ideas? kendale?? tony
actually, check Kendale's construction thread for some killer clouds... 8)
Searched- but couldn't find it?? Can you send me a link?
