(I think i might have posted the previous post in the wrong section)
Hello,
I live in Queens, New York and I've never done this before so I am not sure how to go about it.
I have a room I want to build a studio for making beats (Hip-Hop/R&B/Rap/Reggaeton)
Included is a layout of the room (below) some key notes
*The door/window do not actually stick out I had to "push" it for distinguishing purposes
*There is a radiator that sticks out about 1'6" just below the window
Not much equipment will be in this room for the reason that it is mainly for production but if I can get the room to sound decent I may also do some mixing and mastering.
The room isn't the most aesthetically pleasing so I'm looking to cover it up to look more comfortable and tune it up a bit to get an accurate sound out of the room. My budget for this project is $1,000 but if I can do it for less, the better.
I am not looking to build an state of the art production studio just one I can feel comfortable in as well as my customers with a decent tuneup.
If more info needed please let me know I will try to answer as best I can.
Small Production Studio

Messing with the details
maybe some slat resonator walls leaving the front window and radiator open. some drapes over the window when needed.
That looks awesome
Will this still work even tho the windows aren't perfectly centered
What are the materials needed to accomplish this?
Thanks a bunch
check John's wall unit page and the SAE site for details. basically I would create the frames using 2x4 lumber, regular wall insulation, plywood routed for the slats, and cloth to cover the fronts of the insulation and the hanging absorbers.

also, check John's design in the Moshwitz thread for portable units.
