It appears to work on the same principle as resilient channel.

That's what I was going to say but Keith beat me to it. But yeah, it looks like the V shape in the mid section of the brace is what acts like a "spring" which makes it resilient.

Hi elektrasoul: its nearly finished, i've still to hang some clouds in the live room and do some touch up decor and finish off the desk i built but (like the death star) it's fully operational. The studio is really for me and my band but i've had a few friends bands in and so far so good. cyeazel: I think thats the principal but i am still waithing to get the test results from Lafarge, i will chase it up on monday. I hope to post a full apprasial of the build in the next week or so with up to date pictures Cheers Alan
