After doing some research, absorsption seems to be the resounding feedback, no pun intended. so we looked at our options on controlling and improving the LF performance in terms of absorption. We made some calls regarding materials etc. 703 and 705 rigid fibreglass seems to be the right choice, unfortunately cannot be found anywhere local. The materials accesible are rockwool, insulation blankets R11 and R19 all are two inches thick, the question is which material would be more effecient? I think rockwool would be the best one ...but more importantly can the R11 and R19 blankets be used for anything...would it be beneficial to us. I ask this because the blankets are cheaper than rockwool. We have designed a plan showing Control room and Iso booth we would like to hear other options on how to use the space(see plan). The plan shows two prospective problems 1. The existing bathroom behind that sidewall..sound transmission 2. The construction of the iso booth would really appreciate some help thanks p.s. the message board has been very helpful

You can see popular designs here and construction techniques here and also here. If you state your goals and problems and post some pictures, it will be easier to understand what you want. Sound absorption is a different problem than sound isolation. If you search this site you can find common construction techniques.
my 1st comment would be relating to the lack of symmetry in your control room. A symmetrical control room is KEY for proper stereo imaging. So begin there.......... Next - with the space you have I think you woud be better off loosing the vocal booth and leaving the open space....... otherwise the speace between the 2 is pretty wasted - not a whole lot you can do in there. Actualy - looking at this begining with an empty room - you would probably get your best return on the investment making a combination control room / tracking room because the space is soooooo small. Sincerely, Rod
