As far as code is concerned, an operable window in an adjacent room doesn't count for ventilation no matter how close it is... Unless there's a huge (and I mean HUGE) opening in the wall that divides the rooms.
If you use a fan, you'll really need two: one for positive pressure (supply) and one for negative pressure (exhaust). A heat recovery ventilator (HRV) is two fans in one, and the currents pass each other (but do not mix) inside a core that transfers some of the heat from one side to the other, which saves energy by warming incoming air when it's cold outside and by slightly cooling incoming air when it's hot outside. :-)

Rod and GuitarDad - its only acoustic treatments. the CR is really just a room (sized for the space and isolated with a single wall - sheetrock -> steel frame -> sheetrock with pink insulation) and the interior ceiling frame is handling the acoustic treatments and a couple of track lights. the interior wall frame has slats. acoustic hanger suspension is attached to the main building ceiling joists.
