Ok, so here's the deal. I have a room that is aprox 16x8. I want to build a wall in the middle isolating two rooms from one. One will be a control room and the other will be the recording room. However. I hold live rehersals down there as well, so I would like to have the option of opening the room up. Does anyone know of a way to do this? yet still have isolation. or is it impossible?
If impossible, then the other consideration would be seeing through into the other room. Using either glass, or plexi, whichever isolates better. I'm really new to this whole construction concept, but I did read through many of the threads. Hopefully someone can help

Hai CaptainTaco and welcome to this mighty forum.
What you're asking is a portable isolator. Very hard to maintain good isolation. Especially since MASS is the key factor in stopping waves from going through walls (ceilings/floors).
So a see-through wall would be an option, and not very uncommon. Most Control Rooms have glass anyway. Not Plexiglas, it holds not enough mass. Glass is very heavy so good iso. But the construction takes some detail.
There's much on that on this forum, so I'd suggest spending some more hours reading :)
thanks for the feedback, to save money I've devised a "usable" situation, that will suite my needs for the time being, I actually, unintentionally, started covering this topic in another thread. I have some pictures up as to my ideas, perhaps you could take a look, and give some advice?
