Hi all,
I posted this thread a few days ago:
http://www.johnlsayers.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=7751
After looking at Kendale design I decided to go for it and I modified it a bit. Here are the results so far. I'll finish everything next week (ran out of rockwool after finishing the upper two halfs).
Cheers and Happy New Year.
PS: Sorry but I got a camea with a 50mm lens and is very difficult to put the entire front wall in the picture. I'll borrow a friend's camera with a wideangle and post a few more photos as soon as I'm done with all the stuff.
Soffit mounting and more...

Hi all,
here is the finished front wall. I bought some more rockwool, bilt the frames and finally completed the job.
Please tell me what you think.
BTW, I had to put two layers of 40mm rockwool on every surface because this is the only kind of rockwool I can find around here. So, is 80mm enough or should I put one more layer (there's room for it if I want)?
Cheers. 8)
Aloha,
Hey, it's looking good! :D
Glad to see that you beefed up the speaker mount section. (wish I had done that  ) Is the box around the speaker totally enclosed in the back, or did you make some provision for cooling?
That's basically what I have (80mm/3"). Keep up the good work, Aloha 8)I had to put two layers of 40mm rockwool on every surface because this is the only kind of rockwool I can find around here. So, is 80mm enough or should I put one more layer (there's room for it if I want)?
Hey, I've got a pair of them reveals too :)
Hi Kendale, yeah I enclosed the speakers in 20mm boxes but the back is open to cool it down. Lately I started mixing at lower level so hopefully there will be no problem with the speakers getting too warm. Right now I'm planning on testign everything out for a couple weeks and then I'll made some fine tweaking. BTW the boxes are supertight, and so far (after testing it at full blast volume) nothing rattles. The bass are really tight but I don't hear any major bump down in the bottom. I remember Barefoot saying that when you mount speakers in soffit you should put a -6dB correction on the low range but what I hear is just more extenson on bass frequencies (like an octave more or so). Right now I don't have any hangers in the bottom but I plan to put some in there in the next few days. I'm working on the cloud now (is basically three of my gobos stuck together) and next I'll have to plan out the side absorber. Thanks to all who helped. Hi Ro, I'm very happy with my Reveals. They are powered with a Studer A68 (150Wx2) and are really good sounding. I like'em 'cause their are a tad bit darker than most small passive nearfield. It's very difficult to balance the bottom end on these speakers (at least the lower two octaves) but for midrange their perfect. Cheers.Hey, I've got a pair of them reveals too :)
