Hi to all again. So far the builders finished the work with the rough construction of our new room. Background. The room is buil on sand with the concrete floor. Dimensions : L 6,30m, W 4,55m, H 2,75m.All outside walls a double bricks (22cm).The next neighbour is about 25 m, and runs dance studio so the sound leakage isnt the BIG problem. The room is connected to the house and has one exit to outside, sliding door. On one side there is a major street, but we could deal prevoisly with the noise. I´ve read Rods book 5 times so far  , trying to understand every aspect of the construction. Unfortunately the way houses are build in USA totally differs from the way its done in Africa. Also spent about 3 months reading thru many posts on the forum. First problem. As you can see, the roof is covered with corogated steel. Do I have to count it as a mass??. If not, my idea was to put gypboards on the purling (sorry, thats the word the guys here are using), then insulation underneath, and again gypboards screwed to the beams. That would make MAM if I dont consider steel as mass. Or, is it enough to put gypboards against beams with insulation inside. I know its not a perfect solution in any case since I would have to conect the boards to the roof construction, but as I sad noise leakage its not a major problem. I hope I follow all the rules of the forum asking this. Thank You in advance drakem20
