Hi Ozzy, Just for you . . . here is the completed layout of the version 2 layout. You know your comments are really appreciated. I still have around 6 more months to refine the designs. Just wanted to get as many opinions as possible . . . this is a really big project for our company and we want to do it right.
Anyone else want to give a vote as to what they think would work better?
Building new studio in the Philippines

Here is a revision of the 3rd design. Changes is that we split the guitar amp room into two smaller rooms so two guitars can be tracked at the same time and be isolated.
Currently we record guitars direct it with VG8s and Line 6 racks, but the guitar players in our company want to be able to record though speakers at the same time. One of the main requests of everyone I spoke to was to be able to record a live rhythm section in the control room . . . including a scratch vocal simultaneously. Thus the thinking in this 3rd try.
Hey everyone . . . please vote and let me know which you think you like better. Thanks again Ozzy and Keith!
Nope, sorry... I'm not an audio engineer. Enjoy your time in Northern California though! 8) --Keith :mrgreen:Getting ready to leave for AES in SFO . . . hey Keith are you making it down to SF for the show? Sacramento is not too far . . . Maybe I will bump into you there.
Hi there.
Thanks for the pic, I'd be lying if i said i wasnt jelous of such a large space and amazing development!! :P  :P
I think design three is also very nice, and can agree with the comments you made RE a bigger control room.
It looks like there is only one wall between booth A and the control room?
If so, it might not give enough iso to track vox in the control room, and cranked amps in the booth!? Just a thought.
I agree with Keith that a triple layered window design may actually reduce the affectivness of the isolation between live room and street over a 2 panel, 2 leaf design, and advice you to have a hunt round this forum for the relative info re windows.
If you get a chance, have a look at my thread and let me know what you think of my designs (scrole down to see new plans), although they dont quite match up to this place!!

Hi Ozzy and Keith,
Got to see Ozzy's studio plans. Good luck as well. Love what John Sayer did with your design. He is really good at what he does.
Thanks for the comments. I will look into the suggestions for window construction. Regarding about loud amps leaking into the control room, all the amps will be on "Hot Plates" which allow us to drive the amps really hard but not turn up the volumes real loud. Also the cabs will be pretty closed mic'ed. Thanks for the comment though.
Trying to kick off my jet lag to make it down to SF to get on some of the tours. I want to make the tour to ILM's new Letterman Digital Arts center at the Presidio. While a lot of it is visual, I have seen pictures of their foley studio there as well as other smaller rooms. I think their big scoring stages and mix rooms is still in the older Skywalker facility. Could be mistaken though.
Hopefully they will let me snap some pictures.
Another studio tour that I want to sign up for is the new Talking House facility which is owned by the CEO of Seagate (hard drives). It is the first new studio in the SF Bay Area for some time and was designed by John Storyk.
Oh well . . . feels like being in Disneyland.
