Hi, I attached a picture of the new space. As a note, I am leasing this space. The outside left of the studio is close to a busy intersection. Thus, I need some help minimizing the noise coming in from the street. The noise is coming in through the windows. The current windows are very thin. Should I replace the windows or board them up on the inside and outside? I was thinking of boarding them up and putting insulation between the boards on the inisde and the outside. Hopfully this will do the trick. There is also a sliding glass door in the control room that a lot of sound is coming through from. Should I replace the sliding glass door or just board that up and insulate like the windows? The also may be concern about the sound leaking from from tracking room 2 and the control room to the outside. It is not much, but I would like to decrease it by 20 decibels or so. The sound is definately leaking through the windows and 2 doors to the outside. For the right side and rear of the control room, I am thinking about building another wall. So it would be the current wall, and then another wall probably about 12" thick. The last problem is that there is an ac in tracking room 2. When it is on full blast it goes through the opening between tracking room 1 and tracking room 2. I am sort of lost with what to do. Is there any point to boarding the windows and building a 2nd wall?

I found this thread that knightfly posted. I am having a bit of trouble understanding his suggestion though. This seems like it should work for all of my windows right? http://www.johnlsayers.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=239 Then for the sound leaking out the door cracks, I should seal it with weather stripping but what kind? So now that the windows are taken care of, and the doors should be taken care of, It leaves me with these problems: 1) The 2 openings between tracking room 1 and 2. 2) The opening caused by the window ac unit. 3) The leakage on the outside right of the control room 4) The leakage into the other office. For problems 3 and 4. This is where I want to build an additional wall. Hopefully this will work. The only sound that will escape from the control room is obviously from the speakers. Maybe there is a better way to tackle this problem other than buildiing another wall. For the doors: http://www.acousticalsolutions.com/prod ... l_kits.asp and/ or http://www.acousticalsolutions.com/prod ... /jambs.asp It seems like the door jamb seals will work sort of like the door seal kit? Is that right or do I need both? I figure that will tackle most of the problem of the sound leaking through the doors. Maybe this will curb the need to build a new wall. As for the opening between the two tracking rooms. The opening is about the width of 2 1/2 regular doors. I probably could just build a new door jamb and install a door. Does this sound like it would work? Then Seal any other cracks and openings with acoustical caulk.
here is an updated picture with the solutions

The images are too big: 1,136 pixels wide. They need to be resized to about 700 pixels wide as per John's dire warning.
sorry guys. I didn't mean to be aggrevating; I didnt realize the pics were that big. I resized them. Any help and advice is appreciated. Thanks
Thanks for resizing the pics. :-) Unfortunately, now they are so small that the text is unreadable. Might I suggest redoing the images so that the text is much larger in them? I think you'll get some action on your thread if the text is legible. --Keith
Hopefully I am straightened out now. I couldn't include my solutions on the picture so I will restate it in this post. 1) For the windows that are on the outside-roadside, I will use Knightfly's suggestion for boarding them up. I will most likely do the same for the sliding glass door. 2) For the Opening between the 2 tracking rooms, I will put a door jamb there, and a door. 3) The door in tracking room 2 doesn't need to be opened, so I will either seal it, or board that up too. 4) The door that leads outside from the control room will be sealed with the stuff from acousticsolutions. I just need to know if I need the whole door kit, or just the door jamb seal. I will also possibly put another wall there like in #5 below. 5) There is a door and wall at the back of the control room. This leads into the office and lounge area. Alot of sounds leaks through that wall/door for some reason. The wall is 8" thick; it is sheetrock-insulation-sheetrock. I was thinking about building another wall 12" in front of it, with another door jamb. That wall would be sheetrock-insulation-sheetrock. If I am understanding correctly, this should provide the proper wall that everyone here talks about, I believe a 2 leaf. Sorry if I am unclear or overwhelming. I am not a construction type guy so this stuff comes very hard to me. I am looking forward to your help. Thanks
