My plan is to star ground all outlets to the console frame (electrician said this might be a good idea) and have one big ground run from the frame to the main ground. Any comments on that? Perfect. This would also allow you, if necessary, to wire all your mic runs so their shields are ALSO only terminated at the console star point - should be a very quiet system. I'm not acoustician enough to know exactly, but have heard that gas flow resistance in mineral wool products is different than that of similar density fiberglass products; and all the acoustic calculators I know of are based on the old standard, OC 703. Not sure how much difference it would make to use RW instead... Steve
Thanks for the reply Steve. I was really worried about the whole grounding issue. Thing with the insulation is that the walls are build with 10cm studs, meaning i could put 10cm (4inches) of rockwool in there. The Isover stuff (think it's called SSP2) is only 5 cm, and f'in expensive. I'm planning to use it for the ceiling clouds, but for the walls I'd much rather go with Sonorock. I read in another thread that John isn't using any Fiberglass products anymore, does anybody out there know if Sonorock is a good alternative?
