With the door open. as you can see, there is a window. This would of course have to be covered up

ok i took some rough measurements. height=6'5'' length=5'5'' width=2'6'' keep in mind that im pretty small, only 5'4" and i only need me and my mic. so what would i need to do for DECENT ISOLATION. I know i wont ge the best but anyone have ideas? thank you, please respond as quickly as possible.
Aloha,
what would i need to do for DECENT ISOLATION. I know i wont ge the best but anyone have ideas?
Depends on what you are isolating from. Is your main concern outside noise getting in (traffic, neighbors, dogs barking, aircraft, train), or inside noises (vocals, guitars) getting out and disturbing the neighbors. The reason I say "depends" is to determine how much isolation you might need. Once you determine the amount of isolation you need, you can then build for it. To accomplish isolation, the theory here is called mass-air-mass. For example, 2-3 layers of drywall - 3"-12" of airspace filled with rockwool/fiberglass, and then another 2-3 layers of drywall. If possible, you also want to avoid having a "three leaf" structure, which tends to let more LF in/out. Also in your situation, the window may need to be plugged, depending on the level of isolation you are hoping to achieve. There is a post somewhere about building a "window plug." Perhaps a search on the topic will prove useful for you. Take a look at the attached to see what you may be looking at in regard to your "vocal booth." The Axial Standing Wave graph is to help you see what areas of acoustical treatment you will need. For a room your size, "dead" is better. Hope this helps, Aloha 8)

thanks for the help. that chart is confusing. but to answer some questions. the room is in the backyard so the only thing i would really have to keep out is the neighbors dogs barking and the noise that the room creates on the outside such as the humming of my PC. also, i dont want to add too much mass since the width is already small so i dont want to make it too much smaller. Also, do you have a link on the little outlet where you plug the mic cables. would those be hard to install. i dont even know what theyre called. also, since im just going to be rapping. i dont think id be able to rap loud enough to disturb anybody. thanks
Aloha, Sorry, didn't mean to confuse things. Just trying to help. The chart just points out problem areas/freqs you have in your room.

thanks for the links, are these hard to install. also, when you said plug the window, what does that mean exactly?
do you guys need to know anything else?
Here's one way to do your window - http://www.johnlsayers.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=239 Also, since your bathroom is so small is there a way to add a couple extra layers of drywall to the OUTSIDE wall of the bathroom? BTW, if you do EVERYTHING possible that's mentioned in the "don't even THINK about..." post at the very top of the forum, it will help BOTH of us save some time - thanks... Steve
