I have a small room (all dimensions listed below in image) and of course, bass response at listening point is horrific. I tore everything out of room to work on speaker placement. Is it worth working on this before I move acoustical treatment back into room? If yes, then I have ETF charts and info below... QUESTION: How/where to place speakers and listening position in small room??? Any heuristics? THANK YOU! Images X1 and X2 are ETF output in empty room with NO acoustical treatement. I moved all treatment out, to clean up some problems and start from scratch. The Legend and drawing below indicate room treatment I have (but again, moved out for this test) Speakers approx 6" off front wall. 2' from side walls. Bottom of speaker at 36". I have Genelec 1029/1091 and front ported KRK 8". I am using the KRKs for this test to eliminate sub woofer placement issues with Genelecs. Room description: Ceiling height: 8" Back wall has door and closet with "pocket door" Front wall has window Walls and ceiling are drywall, floor is carpeted. Legend for room.gif: Blue are superchunks, floor to ceiling, Green are 6'x2' panles of 4" OC 703. "These are free standing" Purple are 4'x2' panels of 4" OC 703, hung as corner absorbers across ceiling/wall corners.
