Isolation versus Ventilation

Hi, I'm actualy building a live boot - pratice room in my basement. I am wandering if someone have a hint on how to minimize the sound of the room to go out in my ventilation system. I've heard mufflers can do a great job. If it's right, how to install it to be efficent? If not, what can I do? Thanks Steeve
