Hello, I'm getting ready to install a few pieces of glass in the studio. I'll be using 60 Duro EPDM rubber around the sides, Top, and Bottom of the glass. To get a U shaped seal around the sides of the glass I was thinking about using Neoprene.
Should I skip the Neoprene and just run my wood stops right up against the glass? Or can someone recommend another material to use in place of the Neoprene. Thank You:)!!! andrew

Hey Steve, I dug a little deeper and found this posting:

What exactly are closed cell foam and Celotex? And where might I find these products? Is celotex the same thing as Acoustic Foam Core (I'm not sure what this is either...)
thanks,
andrew
The "search" feature is your friend... 8) Here is one of many threads in which Celotex is asked about, described, and essentially shredded. :shock:What exactly [is] Celotex?
Closed cell foam is foam (usually fairly soft) that has no breathable qualities; if you were to hold a piece up to your mouth and try to blow through it, you couldn't do it. Things like the door seals in cars are closed cell foam; a harder version (not what I meant) would be the white foam insulation board that is used to insulate under concrete slabs in houses.
Celotex is basically shredded paper byproducts mixed with adhesive and compressed into flimsy, aerated boards; it usually costs about twice what gypsum wallboard does, and is soft enough not to cause hard coupling in some cases. It's stiff enough to work for a surround in windows, but light/soft enough not to cause serious flanking if installed right.
Another term for this type of Celotex (since Celotex is a BRAND name as well) is Homasote... Steve
