Hi guys :!: Last ten days i learned little about cad drawing, and here's the result :D I'm really happy with Sketchup, and will be happy to hear your comments.
John, is it possible to upload skp file here or can i mail it for you? I tried to compile your floor plan, and will be great if you can check it :D
BTW, i started with some work in house, actually i few days will be great to have plan for studio. As i mentioned before, i would like to make c.room best it's possible in this attic.
Regards, Sergio
you can post a .skp file.
cheers
john
Great, i drawed basic version, and will be happy to hear comment :D
BTW, file is too big for forum upload, so here's the link

That's great sergio :) I can see it all now - the stairs are different but it all fits - I'd shorten the front of the of the control room so you miss that post intersection at the right speaker when you put in your monitors. - the office will work fine - you are just having the one recording space??
A word about sketchup - when you make a piece of wood or any wall etc group it immediately (encircle it with the mouse to highlight it and right click 'make group') and work totally in groups. Then you can select say all the rafters just by clicking on each one and group them all together OR put them on the one layer which you can then switch on and off called rafters (STUB). To edit a group just double click it and it gets highlighted and the rest of the model fades.
You'll find it a lot easier because you can switch off the rafters whilst you work inside.
cheers
john
John, i'm not sure whay you are talkin about. Hmmm, don't get me wrong, i'm poor with English.... :oops:I'd shorten the front of the of the control room so you miss that post intersection at the right speaker when you put in your monitors.
Yes, i really don't need two rec. space, anyway, studio is planned to fit into my needds, i don't wanna make it commercial. Office is what i really need (at this moment) and it's easy to move one wall if i someday change my mind. One thing is not so clear to me, and please tell me how i have to treat front and back wall. I'm talking about wall around window and angled back walls. Thanks for sketchup tips :D Regards, Sergioyou are just having the one recording space??
Sergio - this is what I mean

:D John, i don't know what to say :!: Simply, you are my HERO!
You redrawn everything and not just that, you added more then few beautiful things. I must admit that i didn't expected so much, thanks, thanks :D
BTW, it's time to have my drawing plans finished, tomorrow guys are starting to build.
You also solved my main problem, what to do with celling, and please tell me, is that kind of absorber?
Also i see back wall of mix-room layin' on some kind of floating floor? (under sofa)?
And one maybe stupid question, are the walls gypsum?
Stay sharp!
Regards, Sergio
The ceiling unit is a cloud - it's just a frame of 4 x 2 with a cloth clover and insulation 703 between the 4 x 2s.
The rear wall is a stud frame with heavy 703 insulation and cloth cover to create a dead rear wall. You can even add hangers in the deaper section at the rear.
See what I mean about using groups in sketchup??
cheers
john
John, what to tell :?: Works great :D Thanks for answers about back wall and cloud, now I'm getting the point. Tell me, you are talking about dead back wall. Is that mean that front should be live? At first time i tough that you planned LEDE. Or front wall will be dead too? And, problem is that oc 703 products are not available in my area. Can you recommend some alternative? Thanks, SergioSee what I mean about using groups in sketchup??
About 703... I'm looking for rigid insulation with 45 kilograms per cubic meter. Am i right? When you say heavy, you are talking about thickness or about material with more density?
And when i'm talking about density, can you tell me specs. for neoprene usable for floating floor?
Thanks, Sergio
Sergio - I'm here to help with design - go and find that info mate - it's all on this site :)
cheers
john
Cool, i found all info, and some domestic material like 703, thanks,
Sergio
Before i make some mistake, maybe it's clever to ask
Is this correct way to cover my ceiling :?:
yes mate - that's ok - as you have sketchup have you downloaded the garage studio I posted as a stickey??
cheers
john
Thanks John, yes "garage" was my guide to Sketchup :D
Ok, big, huge thanks to John and everybody... :D
We started from here
And here we are :D
Wow! :D
Could you share some photos of the construction process with us? 8)
--Keith
Yes, i'm in the resizing process :?
cool - keep em coming :) - so how does it sound?? cheers johnYes, i'm in the resizing process
Huh, i have some serious net problems, so i asked my colleague to upload for me....
He did that on some hosting address and here's the links. Sorry, no comments about, but hope that guys will figure what's goin'on.
BTW control room sounds very exciting with solid controlled bass down to 40 Hz. I really started to like my Tannoy's. :D From 12khz seems that it's a little dark, but that's maybe because of Tannoy's characterr :?: Only problem is with few upper mid freq's... I still can't figure from which side comes some phasing. Some advice?
I'm overwhelmed by the coolness of it all!!! 8)
Thanks :DI'm overwhelmed by the coolness of it all!!! 8)

I finally find some time to upload pics again.... Sorry
