What is the best way to ventilate the studio without affecting the sound proffing. I don't need AC (live in UK, lol). Just some sort of fan and ducting. Any ideas
Cheap ventilation

So basically I just need a fan in and a fan out with some ducting that truns a few corners. Do I need to line the ducting with sound absorbant foam?
Either that, or use acoustic ducting such as Johns Manville's Super Duct - Rod told me they actually will help DIY'ers find their products locally, as opposed to Owens Corning who don't seem to be very helpful to anyone -
If you can find it locally, the Super round

would work well with an inline "booster" fan i I found them in 4", 6" and 8" at Home Depot, bought one of the 4" for a reality check on noise and was surprised that it's pretty low (my SLM doesn't go down low enough to measure it, but it's just a cheap Radio Shack one - looking at one about 10x the cost now) - I bought the 4" because of a vocal booth project, gonna try it with a combo of 4" ABS and dryer vent hose. The 4" inline fan was about $23, think the bigger ones were around $40.

Remember that moving air causes noise that is approximately equal to the 4th or 5th POWER of velocity - so oversize ducts and slower fans are vastly superior for your purpose - if the duct fan I suggested were too noisy but also provided more than the necessary air, a motor speed control might improve things quite a bit. Also remember that I've NOT done any of this yet, other than to acquire a 4" booster fan and plug it in to see how loud it was (pleasantly surprised) - Bottom line- I'm not saying that this WILL work, only that it's a possible way to try... Oh, BTW - Rod Gervais (vastly more knowledgeable than I on this subject) told me it was better to use just a fan on the OUT duct - that it would cut down on inside noise because of the location of the noise source (fan) in regard to air flow...
