Hi,
I wonder what's the best material to decouple the speakers in a SOFFIT MOUNT WALL.
Yesterday I was trying with a monitor stand and some rubber stripes and my foam ISO PADs. The best results were with foam ISO PAD but I was using a 2 mm thick neoprene rubber stripes 1/2 inch wide.
The rubber stripes alone didn't do nothing. So what's the better for a SOFFIT MOUNT BOX DECOUPLING?
Where can I find this type of foam? Monitor ISO PADs usually have irregular shapes.
What's the best for decoupling speakers ISO PAD or EPDM?

Heavy carpet pad foam or agglomerated foam. 1/2" (12mm) Or use sorbathane or sylomer.
I've just found many options of Polyurethane Agglomerated Foam. Would this one works?

DATA SHEET:
THICKNESS: 20 mm
DENSITY 150 ± 15% Kg/m3 (ISO 845)
COMPRESION RESISTANCE 40 % > 35 kPa. (ISO 3386/1)
TRACTION RESISTANCE 139 kPa (ISO 1798)
ELONGATION 77 % (ISO 1798)
I don't know if the translation of data sheet words is the usually used words in english...
On the other hand, I've found "sorbothane" acoustics products in ebay. In my country they only shell their insole products like this one:

But the acoustic product is only 2 mm thick. Is this enough for speakers decoupling?

Should I buy as tiles as it envolve the speakers perimeter? Or one of them at the bottom is enough?i'd go with the foam - it's probably closer to what you need in terms of the speaker weight and softness to keep it decoupled.
Thanks Glenn,
I'll buy the foam and I'll try to do some tests before making the soffits.
Regards!
I will use agglomerated foam to decouple my monitor. But I have some questions.
I don't know if I need to decoulple de monitor MDF box from the bottom plate.I think monitor will be decoupled with the foam only. Will It work?
