Ok, so now I need to keep a larger area for the family room, so that the studio must fit within a 10'x37 'Rectangle (8' ceiling). I will also add an exterior door this summer so I need to build accordingly. I thought putting the live room at this location to avoid passing by the RC with the equipment. So I want to maximize space for the RC and LR. I also thought about putting a vocal booth between the live room and control room. I think putting a window between the CR and Vocal, and a sliding door between the live and Vocal Room. The problem I see is that in the CR, the door will be right at the front of the room, so how I make my bass trap? Do you see a better solution or I will think about building a bass trap door? Basing myself on the optimal ratio suggested for room acoustics I think a size 10 x 15 for the CR would be interesting. (I found a calculator for optimal size ratios on the site http://www.rt60.net/ratios.htm).

the door into the CR could be a problem. any option to put the door in via the office? (not that the office is large enough either...) why not have the vox booth occupy all the space between the live and CR? maybe have the door into the vox booth from the family room as well. then just use windows between the rooms.
The "office" or should I say the desk, is under the dock so the ceiling at this place is 6 foot high..... Maybe I can switch the sliding door on the CR side, and put a door between vox booth and family room... not the best but, I think I don't have the choice...
Or turn the CR to the top wall is the front of the room and have a slider between the vox and between live rooms. Make the dividing side walls on angles. Make the back wall of the CR highly absorptive.
