You have a few options.
1) in a soundproof box - someone built one on the construction site but I forget where it is - maybe someone else remembers.
2) Built in underneath one of the speakers soffits.
3) Built into one of the side wall resonators.
4) Get special quiet towers.

do you have any experience with silentmaxx?

i have krk v6 monitors, which are nearfields

do you think i should mount them in soffits?
thanks!

Here are a couple quiet iso racks...
by Raxxess and Middle Atlantic,
I'm sure there are others.
Although I've heard that the fans can be switched out for even greater performance. 20-30db of noize cut.
They're like $1000 though.
Might take a stab at building my own, doesn't look tooooo hard, right?
Hi there,
check on John's main site this link
www.johnlsayers.com/Studio/Mainpage/MP-laptoppop.htm
this guy built a DIY silencing case for his computer and I'm planning to build something similar.
Maybe it will not have the same "pro-look" and a lower silencing effect of the RAXXESS solution, but you should be A LOT below the $1000 pricetag !

sheesh! the pre-made ones are expensive, i'll say... diy sounds great compared to that. thanks for the great link!
how about the monitors? should they be soffit mounted or put on decoupled speaker stands?
they are krk v6 - nearfields by design. would i be better off sound-wise with soffits?
i really like the soffit idea for convenience - never having to worry about recalibrating the stereo imaging if the speaker stand got bumped...
but would there an audible difference discernable enough to make it worthwhile?
thanks again! :P

ok, i read the post:
http://www.johnlsayers.com/phpBB2/viewt ... eld+soffit
and i'm definitely convinced that soffits will help. how do i build a computer box below the speakers without compromising the bass trapping quality of the soffit?
