Hello there, we are building a studio inside an existing shed on a farm in country victoria. budget for materials is about 10k, we have a plan that we have drawn up and have had some people who know a bit more than us take a look and there are a few problems that have already been pointed out (such as the control room layout) but we would love to get any feedback from people here on the forum with ideas on other ways to plan out the space. Here is the plan that we came up with: And here is the current layout with no plan, there are two load bearing beams in the room that cannot be moved The whole thing will be double walled and we have got a fair bit of good advice on what materials to use we are mainly interested in other people's layout ideas but any information you think we might need would be much appreciated. Thanks heaps in advance Andy & Chris
The control room is one issue of several, but the lack of symmetry is the most glaring in respect to the control room. What are the roller doors? Is that like a free hanging sliding no mass door? those are going to be an issue if they are hanging and low mass and basically air leaks.
Read all the stickies. Update your location in your profile. And maybe post this in the design forum. Oh and good luck :)
Hi The roller door is actualy where a large double glazes gased window will be that looks over a gully. there is a roller door there at the moment but it will be chaged during construction. we are really just struggling with the layout to get more symmetry in the controll room. the actualy contruction materials and methods are all sorted out. cheers

My slab was the same size as yours. I originally came up with 3 design's all with car spot. But it might give you an idea. symmetry is the key. viewtopic.php?f=1&t=8073 Though i start out with a 9m length it ends up being 10m.
Some thing like this. Sorry for the paint drawing.
