This as an aside from other posting I've done on here..... Here's my design thread. viewtopic.php?t=11629 But all I really want to know is....what is an airlock for? To lock air? I have Rod's book, and in his example studio he puts one in. Maybe I'm slow on all this...he mentions it basically creates a 4-leaf design, but does it serve another function other than making single doors a 2 leaf design? Again, I'm really new to all this....so any help would be appreciated. JOn
Jon - What is this "Rob's Book"? I'm thinking I should get it.
rod gervais's book on home studio construction...pretty much required reading.
The air lock is like any air lock in commercail buildings. It allows a person to enter the 1st door without opening the 2nd door and letting air(sound) out or in, in the case of a studio. The canvas roof on the tennis centre in Perth is held up only with air pressure. so all entries have an air lock. Once the 1st door is sealed you can then enter the building. lil
