Been searching on this forum this morning and I can't find an answer to my question. When building the door frames (one inner leaf, one outer leaf) to my control room with a double stud wall, what method is used for filling in the cavity between the doors on the floor and ceiling area while allowing it to remain decoupled? I know this is more for aesthetics when dealing with the passing through from the outer leaf door to the inner leaf door but, i have a 6" gap between both walls is this too much of a space?
Cavity fill between doors in Double Leaf?

I'm not an expert, but I've seen it done two ways. One way is to extend the jams so that they almost touch leaving maybe a 1/8" gap. The other way is to fill the cavity with 703 wrapped in fabric.

I'm having the same issue.
Starting to think about creating a wall/ceiling of thick sonex
Have you looked in Rod's book? My copy get's here tomorrow. I was thinking of using fabric for the sides, but even with that I would be weary someone would put their hand through it if they were leaning in the doorway. Wheres Andre? haha
