Is this double or triple leaf?

A few minor blunders made as my father wanted to get a jump start on the studio, and decided to put up the surrounding frames along the existing walls. I tell you it is not fun tearing apart sheet-rock between the studs of the walls, especially when its freezing. Now the next one is my fault as I forgot to put the pre-existing windows into my floor plan and layout. Which brings me to my question. I will have 3 different frames, the outer frame (2x6 w/ R-19 insulate, until siding) is the existing wall with the windows that continues to the outside, I (my father actually) then built another frame (2x6) 3 inches apart running parallel to the previous wall, which I am thinking to use as just a frame with insulation, to provide isolation from the windows. I then wish to run another frame (2x4) alongside that one, 4 inches apart so that I may create a double studded wall. Would this be considered a triple leaf or a double? I'm thinking also about covering the windows up with rigid fiberglass or some type of insulation to close them off, would that be a good idea? I did a quick sketchup below for u guys. If you have the distance, build the two framed walls and make them as far as 12 inches apart. Two framed walls and insulate as you are saying and install sheetrock. Three frames isn't helping you a bit and only adds to the confusion. As far as making plugs for windows, you want to get a plug that resembles your wall(not the three framed one). Density on the one side, air(insulation) in the middle(framed part) and density on the other. Build the plug like a correctly built wall to achieve your best results.
So X, if I build the far left and far right walls, and use those as double stud walls with a 12" air gap, I should be good? Just out of curiosity was the middle one actually acting as a 3rd leaf or not? As for the window, are u saying the plug alone needs to resemble the entirety of the walls? MSM, or just the window wall itself, which would be the mass?

Yup! 12 inches is definitely a great air gap, if you can afford the space.

If there was no massive surfaces on it at all (such as sheetrock, plywood, MLV, etc.), then no, it was not a leaf. It probably wasn't helping much, though! A shame to waste all that wood, too. - Stuart -
Thanks Stuart appreciate it man, I don't think I'll be wasting too much, just the base boards, I can most definitely save the studs. Also Stuart if you can check out my thread on my studio, I'de love to hear what u have to say on my new posts, I redesigned the control room so I may be able to add soffit mounts, but the current model has them at about 90 degrees, so im gonna redo it again hopefully down to 80-84 degrees. Like I said I admire your opinion. Thanks
