Stuart - this statement doesn't seem to read as light-hearted as I felt when writing. I certainly did appreciate you taking the time to think through that option. And it actually got me thinking a bit more about how to get more vocal booth space. My wife then suggested I simply shift the control room over, taking less space for my equipment room and more for the vocal booth. The pic attached shows the idea. I created a sketchup version of my equipment rack to make sure it would maneuver okay in the smaller equipment room. I've got possession of the house - it's been chaotic but I've finally got some pics of the inside of the garage. I'm going to start a thread in construction and get this thing happening! Thanks a tonne to everyone who piped in here!It certainly does look ugly, but my earlier layout may well have sounded far uglier. :)

In case anyone is still paying attention here I've got another question. This layout gives me a control room ratio of approximately 1 : 1.25 : 1.56, pretty good according to Sepmeyer. The live room on the other hand comes out at 1 : 1.04 : 2.09, not so ideal according to anyone.
Any input? I'm about to start a thread in construction and need to finalize a design.
