Hello Again after looking around the forum for the last seven months, i ended up changing the whole design ... here's the previous design http://www.johnlsayers.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=10242 well this was after reading about a lot of phenomena which i wasn't aware Specially room modes null deeps bass trapping helmholtz etc etc etc . so here's the design i did ... i tried to squeeez the budget as much as i can so my plan is to buil the whole wood work, frames.. everything on sketchup so i can order the wood ready to reassemble like a kinder surprise toy :) Dimensions i'm posting the pics and the link for the sketchup file bellow as i said before i need it to be mastering ready room not plaining to have a miracle but i want to put every penny on the right place "let's say that the budget is around 5K-7K USD max excluding the construction and the construction materials ""i have a relative who's a building supplier you know installments  so all the budget goes to acoustic treatment :D still looking for the fiber glass best deal back in my country normally i'll go with 10Cm-4inch thickness (any recommendations) Floor the control room floor will be ( 40cm // 15.7 Inch deeper than the rest of the foundation so it will not have any floor to floor contact with the booth or the neighbor floor (floor details from bottom to top) - staffed rock 25 to 30cm - 10 to 12 inch - steel net - concrete 10 to 15cm - 4 to 6 inch - Bubble Insulation Example just to eliminate the contact between the concrete and the hardwood - Floor Hardwood is it gonna work this way ? Walls all walls are 10cm - 4inch covered with a 2 to 5 cm - 1 to 2,5 inch mixture of sand concrete both sides (will this type of brick create 3rd leaf ?) Ceiling is a 35 - 40 cm concrete block the main entrance is from the right side "the tunnel like" opening on a waiting room to the control then the tracking room top left corner no window is gonna be installed the visual contact will be via those 14"Monitors and the small surveillance cam "i'm feeling that the window gonna take a big part of budget if i wanna do it right... and if not  then it will be the weakest link in the studio doesn't it ?

Here's the Sketchup studio24-08l.skp - 10.13MB
6 days no answers? dnno if i missed some info. did i ?
you posted your questions as part of your description ... i had to re read the description to find them. as for the questions ..... I am not in any position to advise, my expertise is in stupidity :D but it took a while to get some answers to my needs, so hang in there, help is coming Iain
"will this type of brick create 3rd leaf ?)" /quote Not if it is part of a one wall configuration. The confusion probably comes from looking at the block and seeing the three rows up and three rows down air space? As the block is installed, the mortar seals the ends so it becomes one sealed block.
thnx for the reply's was pretty informative and i need to know technically if such a design gonna work or not ? i mean in a way of Absorbtion Vs Reflection sorry for my english and still feeling like i missed something on the before you post sticky :?
Looking at the picture, which end is the monitoring position? If it is at the top of the picture, under the cloud, your splayed absorption panels look to be broken up, they are not in a straight line as it seems they should be? There are no dimensions to this drawing and this is difficult for folks to get a handle on your length/width/height, etc. For me, as a drawing of a potential room, it looks fine.
my bad ! i thought you might use the sketchup file for the dimensions i'll edit the post in a way so all the informations would be in the *.jpgs
sorry all for the lack of information here's the same design with more information , i felt like leaving the fist post cause i edited the Cloud according to xSpace' s recommandation The Goal : Achieve a decent (mixing/control room + tracking room) within a budget of 5 to 7K USD building starts hopefully by January 2009 The Usage not really loud but quiet loud "Hip Hop Rnb" and music for video, TV Commercials Documentary ... Treatment no big insulation work required as i think .. ? - only one wall will be concerned with that "Front CR Wall" - The exteriour area surrounding the Booth is totally quiet So the only treatment will be controlling frequencies around the room Bass Trapping Three huge bass traps on Front L & R Corners + Front Ceiling wall angle . for the back wall i'll be using Broadband absorbers on doors and wall I don't know if should consider diffusing ? When the distance is considered long enough to use diffusers ? The Design The red area is the area which will be constructed

Will This act as a floating floor ? is not really a choice to dig the CR . i will not be able to get the room ratio 1, 1.4, 1.9 Louden's best ratio i wanted to start from here

The 38% Rule The listening position will be 2.02M away from the front wall

Framing & FiberGlass The fiber will be 10cm thick 4inch ; still looking for a local supplier

Should the traps be filled with fiberglass or just a rigid across the corners ? Slat Resonators i'm thinking of installing the slats this way so it would reflect high frequencies
External image, not preserved — original: http://img220.imageshack.us/img220/2610/07allbo9.jpg
Slat Dimensions 2 cm x 6 cm gap between slats respectively 4;2;3;1 cm and it repeats again Any input will be appreciated
