Overview:
Finished converted 2 car garage for Drums/ band Rehearsals/Tracking
Isolation is good enough.
Goals
1) Reverberation time at about 0.5 sec.
2) Diminishing the intensity of early reflections uniformly all around the room.
3) About 85% to 100% coverage for acoustic treatment. (sorry I don't like any flat hard drywall around me) it's kind like small and loud in here....
Questions:
1) I would like to achieve the goals above but I need to keep it very simple.. it's just a garage, how?
2) (see images), the last layer of drywall toward the studio, (walls only), does it help for Isolation ?
absorb some extra bass frequencies?
or it worsen mode and resonances and should be removed to match the ceiling?
Options:
1) I'm open to modifying the interior shape/dimension of the room if suggested as an acoustical treatment.
Construction details:
See images,
"The density of the high density rigid mineral wool is 0.61 x sqf. (the formula is 0.61 x 12 divided 5/8" thickness.)" rigid acoustic tile material.
Here just an example of the the RT60 and absorption coefficients of the materials, however I never measured the reverberation time or tested the material.
5/8 Drywall on 2x4 studs
125Hz, 250Hz, 500Hz, 1kHz, 2kHz, 4kHz,
0.29, 0.11, 0.05, 0.05, 0.07, 0.09
concrete floor,
125 Hz 250 Hz 500 Hz 1 kHz 2 kHz 4 kHz

Rigid high density mineral wool (acoustical tile material)
mounted without airspace : (NRC 0.45)
125Hz 250Hz 500Hz 1kHz 2kHz 4kHz
0.08 0.27 0.75 0. 83 0.71 0.62
Reverberation time of the room originally, without mineral wool:
125 Hz 250 Hz 500 Hz 1 kHz 2 kHz 4 kHz
0.45 sec 1.0 sec 1.7 sec 2.0 sec 1.6 sec 1.4 sec.
Reverberation time with mineral wool exposed on the ceiling and behind the additional 5/8 drywall ( see images):
125 Hz 250 Hz 500 Hz 1 kHz 2 kHz 4 kHz
0.45 sec 0.8 sec 0.7 sec 0.6sec 0.5sec 0.5sec
Budget:
Is low, I need to keep things simple, I already have some constructions and acoustic material that is usable.
I can afford about $400.00.

I didn't forget, but yor project is complicated and I haven't finished suggestions. I'm working on it.

Walls:
You have a triple leaf. Do not put any insulation between the two layers of drywall. Do put insulation in the cavity.
Roof:
Put insulation in the cavity.

Thank you Mr Noxon, I'm building some sonotubes in the main time :wink:I didn't forget, but yor project is complicated and I haven't finished suggestions. I'm working on it. Arthur Noxon, www.tubetrap.com
thanks Andre, sorry probably my description is confusing... construction is already done. This are my existing walls, yea .. an unconventional triple leaf I know. more picks... my doorWalls: You have a triple leaf. Do not put any insulation between the two layers of drywall.
