Heck boss that concrete is already floating 3 meters up in the air now ;)Are you going to be floating the floors off the concrete as well?

LOL!!! hehehe actually it is hehehehe freakinaso: tuanis mae :D. Well yeah it is the fluffy stuff as they call it around here, regular fiberglass, 3 inches thick. It is used for insulation between walls and ceilings (yes upper and the one beneath the floor into the garage). For acoustic treatment I´m gonna use rigid fiberglass that they sell over here for panels and bass traps in combination with some Auralex kind of foam that I had for higher frecuencies treatment. The floors are going to be laminated with the regular foam underneath them. Pura vida :DHeck boss that concrete is already floating 3 meters up in the air now ;)Are you going to be floating the floors off the concrete as well?
xSpace.. haha.. yeah from looking at the pictures you have a point. :O)
I am custom making my own panels for the studio walls and stuffing them with what I have left of the mineral fiber but am running out. The rigid fiberglass sounds interesting, how thick is it? And how rigid is it? Do you know what the cost of it is and where I can get some myself? Yo vivo en Ciudad Colon. Is it something I can pick up at lagar or some ferreteria, I really haven't asked around yet, but now that I ran into this site and see what you are doing I am highly interested.
Thanx for your input man.
Cheers,
That rigid fiberglass you can get it at some places like Fibrocentro or Refractarios la Uruca, they have it I think in 2" and 3" thick, it´s around 28 000col. Take care dude
Gracias mang.
So here are the pics until now. Control room´s caulking is almost finished, bought the lights and floor already too. Today they should finish the caulking on the studio side so I can order the windows and doors for everything.
I miss Jerry Rice...but I don't miss seeing this progress shot!
Your guys seem to being moving along well.
It kinda takes the fun out of the process, no ugly lumped up sheetrock mud, whining about the ugly lumped up sheetrock mud, the occasional "oh when will this sheetrock mud sanding every be done!!!"
I understand better your decision about the doors and your house. Nice job.
Well guys a lot has happened :D :D :D, now caulking, painting, lightning and flooring are done, here are the pics for that. Today or tomorrow morning I should be getting the windows.
It´s amazing how not having paralell walls gets rid of those nasty fluter echoes.
As soon as I get the windows I´ll start moving stuff in there and begin the acoustic treatment
BTW, on the picture named "flooring 5" you can see a mdf box, those were suposed to be my sofits for the studio I was planing on my last house, but now since the dimensions are different for this one I´ll just stuff them with fiber and use them as bass traps
That's a great job ye doing over there valgaer!
Thanks Ro!
So I needed to start writing and pre-production for our new album so I decided to move into the studio with no acoustic treatment whatsoever, I´ll be doing it while I work and hopefully have it ASAP to start the recording process.
So here are some pics of how it looks without the treatment and my monitors for which I´m going to build stands this week!
Cheers!
